Standard bore sbc 400 ,with casting number 487 heads for sale, tampa area.

I have an sbc 400 standard bore bare block with main caps, and a set of bare 487 heads. These are the same heads that came on the 71-72 LT1s 350's with 75 cc chambers. They are genrally regaurded as the best of the smog generation heads.

I need to sell these by the 25th, cause Im going on vacation and need the money. Ill let the heads and block go for $170 OBO. Any reasonable offer will be considered, cause Im really need the money :lol:. I have a truck and will deleiver if its not too far if gas is payed for.

Yeah I cant see any scratches in it at standard bore as it is, and I had a machinist look at it too. It would probbaly be fine with just a honeing job, but at .030 will erase any doubt.

where are you located at? So the heads are the early 70s LT1 heads, they were supposed to be pretty awesome heads werent they? Out of curiousity what did they come off of?

Im located in RIverview, FL, its alittle outside of Tampa.

They are pretty good headsfor being OEM castings. There are two kinds of LT1 heads. There are the 70 heads and the 71-72 heads. I have the 71-72. They both flow about the same, but the 70s haave 64 cc combustion chambers so they produce higher compression. The ones I ahve are 75 cc chamber.

As for what they came off of they came of of a shelf in a guys garage in WI,where I got the block from.

would these heads be much of an upgrade over my stock 93'lt1 heads? r they still for sale? thanks.

Yeah, these are Gen I LT1 heads, wont work for your car.

Still ahve the 400 by the way still lookin to sell or trade it.
