Drumhawk 04-18-2004, 02:24 AM Wow, I returned from Kelowna the other day and I'm still driving on the same tank of gas. I don't usually let my tank get this low but since I did a long trip I wanted to see how far I can go. Keep in mind I drive quite hard and fast, my only challenger on the run was a new 4.0 Jaguar and I beat him handily. Anyways my mileage so far on the tank is 431 kilometers and I still show one eighth of a tank left.
93formula 04-18-2004, 06:48 AM is that all highway? i get about 420 per tank with about 10 liters left on city driving. these six speed transmissions are awesome for milage. who needs a four banger!!

is that all highway? Yup, all highway. Average speed, about 140k's with numerous spurts well over 200k's up to 240 for a few seconds. You run out of straight highway in seconds at those speeds. I'm thinking if I stayed around 100-110k's I could put close to 500k's per 60 litre tank. The window sticker rates the hawk at up to 35 mpg. :metal:
93formula 04-18-2004, 07:09 AM youd get more then 500 staying at 100-110 kmh. i got well over 500 staying at 110 all highway. i think it was andy that got 600 or something all highway.
StreamlineZ28 04-18-2004, 12:32 PM i got 505 km driving down to seattle and back. that is my most ever. i could probably get more but i filled up when i got back.
WTF?
i BARELY get 300k's in the city..
i took my car to whistler one day and i actually got about 275 k's out of just under half a tank.
and this is easy driving too..
so my hwy mileage is pretty good i guess but how do you guys get more then 300 in the city?
93formula 04-18-2004, 04:37 PM maybe you need a tune up:confused:
kal2k 04-18-2004, 08:00 PM man amit i hit 400 easy in the city
i dont need a tune up.
my car has 34k.
i changed my fuel filter a few days after i got it...
its fxcked up.
what do you guys shift at normal driving? and what tire pressure are you using?
93formula 04-18-2004, 10:38 PM it doesnt matter if your car has 34 k, it may need a tune up or something if your mileage is that bad.
i shift at about 2-2500rpm.
kal2k 04-18-2004, 11:50 PM with roy on this one shift at 2grand or go up to 2400 to get that stupid skip shift out
Camaro ChriSS 04-19-2004, 06:17 PM I cruised the canyon a couple summers ago with my wife and got over 600 km on the tank. 610 km I think before I filled in Chilliwack. I was up around 160-180 occassionally, but for the most part, 110-125 kmhr. That was cool to get that mileage.
City is usually 400 or so for me.
Amit, you still having troubles? Also, do you work at Dawson and Willingdon? Think I see your ride there a lot.
bunker 04-19-2004, 08:39 PM I got 650 when stock all highways comming from the states.

Drumhawk 04-21-2004, 03:09 AM It's nice to hear about the great mileage we get from our f-bodys, the 4th gen models get the best mileage. I shift at 2000-2500 rpm when I'm in traffic, open road is a totally different story.
