I'll give credit where credit is due. But I didn't see a flagman. I don't know if the SS gave the STi the bump or what (which would have been VERY stupid), but the SS looked like he sat there for a good couple of seconds after the Rex left.

Everyones overplaying those AWD cars IMO. There quick and I got nothing against a import or whatever personally, but any idiot knows that they have a MAJOR advantage on the street.

You put me in the seat of a LS1 A4 car with a couple of bolt-ons, about a 4,4k conv., and a set of ET streets, and line me up beside a AWD turbo car...;)

Isn't that the point?

I don't think the SS sat there... I think thats just the illussion you get when you see an AWD car launch.

Car Info:

STI - godspeed downpipe, Blitz sus, gt spec header, perrin crank pully.

2002 ss camaro - 4.10 gears, march crank pullys, hypertech programmer, cold air intake, drag rads.

The SS can't drive if he has 4.10s and DRs and launched that slow.

You registered to this site just to post a video of you beating a camaro, if every f-body owner on this site went to a import rice burning message board with footage of a camaro blowin the doors of a fart canned car talkin about ownage, there would be an uproar from the rice burners site that we posted on.

:barf:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you never posted here before, and your a new member that owns a rex.

Ok, sorry I see that your probly not the owner of the rex, but I just don't see the point of posting that here. IMO your obvisously not an f-body enthusiast so why register here. Maybe I'm wrong to say anything so Welcome Aboard.

Actually I own a 96 maro and am a big f-body enthusiast. I also purhcased a Rex recenlty. So I have nothing against domestics or imports. I posted the video cause I thought it was cool.... notice I'm not flaming anybody. If people have a problem with it than maybe they're the one's with the problem. I bet all the members here would be very happy if the SS won, but just b/c the out come was the opposite that does not mean I'm biased toward imports. Let's not turn this into domestic vs import thread. A true car enthusiast should not be biased so when I get a chance I will post vids of maros winning races... that way everybody is happy!!!:D

For sure the camero would have won if it was a highway race.

i think the driver was the problem no way a high 13 low 14 second car could beat a low 13 high 12 second car like a ss with a good driver

Exactly! Each car has a decisive advantage in different situations.

TO ME, the STi's are butt ugly, BUT I do respect what they're capable of and would pick my battles accordingly.
I'm sure alot of STi/Evo guys might think my Z28 is ugly too, but I would hope most respect what the LS1 is capable of.

...Now if I only had a video of my high speed freeway molesting of a black Evo on the way back from Vegas last weekend...

It was ugly for him:eek::D, but on the flipside I'd be weary of a stoplight race with one.

I tried the whole AWD thing for a month and I absolutely hated it. You have to shift slower and stupid crap like that so you don't hurt the drivetrain.

actually the drivetrain on the STI has been proven to be pretty durable. No need to shift slow on that car, but you can't be launching it at 5,500 rpm everyday.

Is the Drivetrain stronger than the regular wrx, a buddy of mine went thru 3 trannys in 6 months with his wrx

It is very different.

I am not a general car enthusiast. I am a V8 RWD car enthusiast, with some exceptions.
