Mustang Commercial References Camaro?

While watching the Braves game, a commercial for the Mustang comes on and makes statements about the Mustang, and then says on the screen "not available on Camaro" they use this "not available on Camaro" several times. Just seems odd to me, considering the Camaro is now out of production. Anyone else seen this?

I don't think anything is available on the Camaro anymore.... I think that's the sarcastic point they're making there.

Its probably a commercial that was made when the Camaro was still in production. If not, they are trying to start **** or to get GM going, which could be good for us. :) But it might not be so good for them. ;)

Everyone that hasn't been stuck on the planet Pluto for the past couple of years has known for a some time Camaro's production would end after August 2002, so again, it is a sarcastic ad.

You are right. Ford is starting ****. GM deserves it. :p

So now that Camaros are out of production, Ford is finally starting sh*t now that a 2003 Mustang will beat a 2003 Camaro.

Well... no frickin' duh!

Even if Camaro was still around, I don't think a 2003 Cobra and 2003 SS matchup would have been pretty. :(

Exactly. Many are still under the impression that had there been a 2003 SS/z28 that it'd be faster then the 03 cobra. Wrong. The 2003 SS would not only have to be faster then a c5 vette but more powerful which seems very unlikely. Even the next gen SS or a 5th gen would have a hard time topping a 03 cobra without stepping on the toes of the c6. Just for comparison sake, the 03 cobras are making anywhere from 420-445 crank hp (factoring in a 15% drivetrain loss). Of course some run stronger then other. The stronger running 03 cobras are putting up numbers that even a c6 z06 might have trouble surpassing.

Ford definitely took a huge jump forward. Now if we could just get them to do the same with the GT and bring it up to Ls-1 numbers.

Btw, what part of SD are you from? i lived in the paradise hills and La mesa are for almost 14 years. Man, i miss that town.

Actually, I spent this past summer selling at a Ford dealership  (sorry guys, Pontiac wanst hiring) and when I did Mustang presentations I always made sure to mention that GM was ceasing production of the F-Body. You'd be suprised how many people had no idea.

You know, I wonder if another reason GM killed the F - body is due to it coming to close to the Vette in performance. Don't flame me if this has been discussed before, I don't post in this forum much. Good for Ford.

If things were different GM would not have let the M*****g be faster.

This is not a flame to you; so please dont take it as such:)

But I dont think GM Corporate could give a rats@ss who was faster. As long as they could sell vehicles and make money, they would be plenty happy with the bonus checks$$$

Now; the guys in the design and R&D division would always like to see their flagship outperform the competitor. But I think its safe to assume that even their inputs do not matter to the bean counters.

It is as misguided and one sided as their customer service at the dealerships and I hope one of them reads this and it gives him/her a moment of pause.

I dont tap dance and I dont sugar coat it; if it sucks I'll tell you it sucks.
