I just got a new carpet for my Camaro and it's not as dark as I would have liked. It's a lite gray color. Has anyone died their carpet to make it darker? If so what type of die did you use?

Just something you may want to think about ... I have really dark leather and carpet (almost black) and the carpet shows EVERYTHING!! Every little piece of fuzz, lint.. anything .. its a real pain in the *** because Im constantly having to vacuum, since I like it to look really clean! Anyways .. just thought I would throw something out there for you to think about before you go darker!

What about sending it back and getting a darker color?

The darker you go the more crap it shows but make it to suit you. If you will go to Wal Mart or most any food store and buy yourself 2 packs of Ritt Dye in the color you want, then mix both packs in a bucket with about 2 gals of water, then use gloves unless you want your hands to match your carpet, and a sponge to soak the dye in. Be liberal with it. It will take it a few days to dry then vacuum good. This works really well and it also will work well to make worn carpet look really good.

Bought it used off Ebay and got a great deal so if I can't die it I will simply have to live with it.
