My car is nothing crazy, thats kind of why Im debating getting it tuned on the wide band.
Quick specs:
- Stock bore 350 lt1
- 9:1 SRP's
- ported heads: CFM = 245in. 190ex.
- 218-230-114 comp cam
- hooker LT's and 4" exhaust
- tiny vortech A-trim @ 5psi
I have a set of 50lb MSD injectors laying around, so I was thinking about throwing them in,scraping the FMU, and getting a local place to strap it on the rollers. I have never logged any data or anything so I have no idea if the computer is pulling timing, or if the injectors are maxed, or anything really.
The car runs really well. More or less just like a stock car untill you get on it and it pulls pretty well.... or at least what I'd expect.
Just wondering if there's more power to be had once tuned?, how much?, is it worth it?, and any other comments.
Thanks for time guys.

Tuning will definately help out. I think those 50 lb injectors will be overkill for what you're doing though. Idle quality will probably suck. :)

Yeah, you could possibly be right. I bought the 50's in anticipation of an S or Ttrim which isnt likely right now. Ive read a couple posts about MSD 50's. Many have had good luck with driveability and such when using lower fuel pressure. Any experience about gains I might see? The car runs good, but if the cost is justifiable, Id get the tuning done.
thanks.

Not really sure. By the time I got around to sticking my 40 lb injectors in my TA, I was loosing compression and boost because of my bad valve job and weak springs. I lost about 70 hp in a years time. Can't wait to dyno it with the new heads and cam though. :)

Good luck to ya with the new set up.
I think I'll dish out the cash to get the tuning done this summer. If it needs larger injectors, maybe I'll go with the 50's. This is kind of been the way Ive been thinking. Everything works fine....but I have to mess with it some how! And of course, try to make some more HP.
Any other coments are welcome

Sounds like that fedex commercial...
"We've got a problem. What's that? There's no problem, and that's a problem."
The car's fine so I must fix it. :D

Hey Scott
As stated earlier if your car is running fine then there is no need to fix it. :) Also I have heard MSD 50 lb injectors tend to lock up at high fuel pressure.
