First, is the leather in the fourth gens genuine leather? I am looking for a protectant and maybe a cleaner for black leather. Whats the best that wont dry it out(like armour all (sp?))

I am also looking for something that will protect and shine the vinyl and plastic without drying it out.

I was thinking about going to a leather apparel store and asking for a protectant normally used on boots or jackets but would also work for seats. is that a good idea?

My 3 favorites (in order) are Zaino, Leatherique, and Lexol.

All 3 are, well, pretty much perfect. :D

I don't know if the leather is genuine or not (I sure hope it is) but I like Lexol. It's easily obtainable and it works just fine. Get the cleaner and conditioner and use them in that order.

Zaino and Lexol both work good.

I like Zaino conditioner and cleaner. Wonderful product and I use monthly.
Weekly I use Meguiar's Leather wipes.

Another vote for Lexol for cleaning, and Meguiar's Leather Wipes for conditioning & care. BTW, the leather used in the Camaro & Firebird is the cheapest possible stuff, and most of our "leather" interior is in fact vinyl. One day, if I ever have a spare thousand dollars, I'm going to have all the vinyl taken out, and replaced by fresh leather.
