The GTR is supposedly coming, but I havent heard anyting with 100% certainty. I say GTR not only because the G35 is the skyline in Japan, but there are many models of the Skyline and not all of them are fast.

Its a sweet car though, and if it packs the punch and features of the last GTR at decent price, it should be a winner.

Nissan has been very open about bringing the Skyline to the US. It would be brought over here as an Infiniti, most likely called the R35 if it keeps the VQ35 as its engine. The problem with bringing it here is emissions. There have been rumors about using the 4.5L V8 as the Skyline engine (the rumored MKV Supra also has been rumored to run a V8) because a N/A V8 would be easier to pass emissions than a turbo V6. There are also strong rumors of using a turbo VQ35 as the engine. The Skyline would also still be AWD. I remember reading an atricle a while back where a representative from Nissan openly said that they were using the 911 GT2 as the car plan to meet and beat .

One thing to note, Nissan has developed a 3.0L turbo VQ for racing. I wouldn't be surprised to see a turbo VQ30 for he basis of a Skyline R35. An undersquare motor like this is ideal for boost and high revs, both Skyline favorites.

Damn! Who woulda thought the basis of the car was the same. Too bad they calmed down the look of them though. will be awesome if they come with a turbo. imports have no business coming out with N/A cars only to be stomped on by the US muscle, their only living edge is the capability of the turbos and the simple mods to make them crazy fast.

Hasnt Toyota officially killed the Supra?

I never knew thats what the Skyline looked like in Japan. I liked the old boxy styling much better.

Right you are.

The Nissan Skyline has already been here (as the G35 coupe & sedan) for a couple of years as Z28 pointed out. Skyline has always come in a coupe and a sedan.

The GTR variations (before Skyline was restyled) was simply a high performance version of the coupe. The new GTR variation will have different sheetmetal than the current Skyline.

For those of you who view the car as a threat to US performance cars, and are itching to line up to buy them, better bring alot of money. These things (when they were based on the regular Skyline coupe) ran about $80,000 in US money for the top level car I believe everyone's thinking about (twin turbos & AWD). The lesser version ran above Corvette territory in pricing.

In short, unless you GOTTA have AWD, variable cams & miltiple valves, twin blowers, a version of quadra steer (yep, they had them), and a whole host of electronic and mechanical gizmos, you'll go just as quickly in a much cheaper Corvette Z06 or if you must have 4 seats with your trunk, and don't mind a slight disadvantage in order to save roughly 60% of the pricetag, a Cobra.

The next Skyline is supposed to be badged as an Infiniti with a 480 HP TT V6.

Personally, I think it's a big mistake to get away from inline motors...
