I was just wondering if there is some way to increase the idle speed on a 90 firebird v6 MPFI engine? mine ildes at about 550-600rpm. which seems to be too low for the engine.

Idle Relearn
By sappyse107

There are a few methods floating around, but this is the one used by GM techs.

Reset ECM by pulling ECM fuse (underhood) for a few seconds.

With A/C turned off, start car and immediately put it in Drive
with your foot on the brake. If the car does not start initially,
keep trying WITHOUT putting your foot on the accelerator.

Let the car idle in gear for at least 5 and no more than 7
minutes.

Shut off the car for 10 seconds.

Start engine, place
in drive and let idle for 5 minutes.

SHut off engine.

Idle is learned.

I'll give that a try, im just having an issue with the car acting like it wants to stall when idling and i was told that the current idle speed was too low, ive ran new vacuum lines from the vacuum tank, and intake manifold to the check valve behind the intake. I also checked fuel pressure which held around 36psi when idling. I changed the TPS, and IAC sensors. I adjusted the timing to recommended specs, changed ignition coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires. But it seems like it just wants to stall.
