This is pissing me off real bad. I just spent an entire weekend installing a brand new aluminum flywheel (Fidanza) and a brand new clutch (Spec Clutch stage 2) with my friend.
Installation went smoothly, but when I took it out for a spin, I get a wobble when I start in 1st. Also, when I give it more gas then usual in 3rd or 4th, I get a grinding noise around 2K RPM.
What could be causing this? I didn't balance the flywheel, but it's brand new so I didn't see it as a necessity. Reving the car in idle is smooth, so I think it's ok. However, I think the problem lies in the clutch.
During installation, I torqued the flywheel bolts to 70lbs, and the clutch bolts to 22lbs while using the supplied alignment tool. Next I bolted on the bell housing and the clutch slave cylinder to the clutch fork. Then I bolted on the transmission, driveshaft, and torque arm, and filled her up with 4 quarts of transmission fluid.
Can anyone spot any errors in what I just described. Did I miss something? Are the bolts torqued correctly?
