I put up three pics of the engine bay prep. Apparantly the line lock has been leaking and I had to strip a LOT of loose paint off :)
In addition, underneath the battery tray needed some stripping. A guess battery acid was the cause. There were some starting rust spots that had to be taken care off. That and the overheating boilovers from last year.

Thanks again to Cory for the help. I hope to get it painted next week.

That looks good , what did you use to strip to bare metal ? You may want to seal it with something if your going to leave it for a while before paint ( etch primer spray bomb is better than nothing ) . Micro corrosion starts seconds after the metal is stripped .
I cant wait to see the finished job

Old post but I was wondering if you have a write up somewhere or tips on repainting the engine bay?

Sorry I have not. Just grunt work taking everything apart and trying to remember how to put it back together.

I started to add primer to the areas that I sanded down to bare metal. This wasn't as hard as I thought! Just takes time to mask off and prep everything. There are certain areas that are hard to get to and I gouged some metal so I need to sand that area smooth and primer it again.
The primer alone looks good and almost matches the OEM Sebring silver. I may just pick out a can of spray paint that matches the car and be done with it. I'm not so sure spending $75.00 on a quart of paint is going to be worth it when noone else will notice the difference.
