LSI 345HP boost package?zachw1036 04-10-2004, 06:39 PM i was on auto trader and this 2000 Z said it had a LSI 345HP boost package. Is that real? What did it add? teke184 04-10-2004, 07:58 PM sounds like a bogus ad i think the 345hp option was only available on the 02 SS and WS6 (possibly formula). and i think that was just a better lid and exhaust tailwindxr7 04-10-2004, 08:40 PM When will everyone realize that the factory ratings for these cars don't mean anything? ULTIMTEORANGESS 04-10-2004, 10:33 PM the only fbody that i know of that came with a 345 hp rating were the 35th SSs. SLP isnt involved with the WS6 pkg. danno02SS 04-10-2004, 10:39 PM SLP had different trim levels on the SS. For 2002 it was 335HP (SLP catback) or 345HP (SLP catback + Donaldson Blackwing Lid). The SLP Firehawk only came in 345HP trim. zachw1036 04-11-2004, 11:03 AM Originally posted by tailwindxr7 When will everyone realize that the factory ratings for these cars don't mean anything? When did I ever say that? Ive never heard of a boost package and just thought I would ask. I just wondered what the mods were. I never said i trust the factory ratings... 6speedZ28 04-11-2004, 02:24 PM Originally posted by tailwindxr7 When will everyone realize that the factory ratings for these cars don't mean anything? It does mean something to someone looking to buy a 2002 SS or selling one for that matter if it came with the 345hp package, sure it may not be the accurate hp for the car but it is an option, jackass Zerocool 04-11-2004, 02:25 PM Originally posted by danno02SS SLP had different trim levels on the SS. Last I checked, the car in question was a 2000. Is it still an option? No need for name calling. I didn't single out anybody, flame anybody, or call anyone anything. However, the fact of the matter is that the ratings still mean nothing, yet people still go by and talk about them like they do. If that package "means something" to somebody, they need to educate themselves since, once again, it means nothing. zachw1036 04-11-2004, 04:55 PM Ok no big deal. Lets just end this now. No reason to start a drawn out thing. The guy must be confused as to what came on his car. The dealer probably told him it had "The boost package" LetMeBurnU 04-11-2004, 05:21 PM Ill take a 98' WS6 over a 98 formula any day, sorry factory ratings do means something   99blackSS 04-11-2004, 05:50 PM Factory ratings are kind of a joke, but the difference in factory ratings usually signifies that the one car has something the other one doesn't, such as better exhaust or a lid. As for the original question, it is false, the 345hp package was a SS option and not offered in 2000. zachw1036 04-11-2004, 08:10 PM Originally posted by 99blackSS As for the original question, it is false, the 345hp package was a SS option and not offered in 2000. Yay. A real answer. Thanks. Exactly. Most LS1 owners already know about the underrated factory ratings. Going by what GM rates them at is an easy way to distinguish between different options on stock cars. So even though the stock "345HP" SS has more than that, its also a safe bet to say it's making more power than the stock "325HP" version because of the upgraded lid/exhaust combo. I'd rather take a better looking car by far and make it faster than take a average looking car that maybe minimally faster and try to make it look as good as a WS6. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that WS6 hoods are ugly and look like a cheap afterthought. Now a Firehawk or Suncoast Raptor hood I'd have. But you see that's why they make different models, so that they have something to appeal to everybody. | ||
