What did everyone run?JD30thZ28 04-10-2004, 04:55 AM What was everyones best run tonight at MRP? raene 04-10-2004, 05:03 AM 13.94 @ 96.8mph... stupid no-torque B16, launching at 7.5k at wide-open throttle and it was STILL bogging.. teh ghey with a 2.0 60' time on 22x8x15 ET Drags. There's a 13.8 in it if I can figure the damn launch out. Pandamonkey 04-10-2004, 11:00 AM That's some nice times raene.:) You'd be able to suprise most fox body Mustangs and some 4th gen Camaro's with those. sideways_Into_3rd 04-10-2004, 11:29 AM Originally posted by raene 13.94 @ 96.8mph... stupid no-torque B16, launching at 7.5k at wide-open throttle and it was STILL bogging.. teh ghey with a 2.0 60' time on 22x8x15 ET Drags. Pandamonkey 04-10-2004, 03:47 PM Originally posted by sideways_Into_3rd Sadly enough my 3800 lbs beast was only able to run a measly 13.9 @ 103 with a 2.3 60' I felt stupid going down the track at those speeds .. dont think im gonna bother drag racin it anymore .. That's likely what my car would run.......possibly less.:( raene 04-10-2004, 04:17 PM Thanks guys... you should've heard me yelling + jumping up and down in the seat when I got my slip :D It felt pretty retarded wearing a helmet when I wasn't even running 13s yet either... now at least it's justified :p Just fix the jet Payam... and don't run such an eensy shot, 75 shot is Honda territory ;) I know you'll be back! bunker 04-10-2004, 04:28 PM Bah, I hate the tech guys, they wouldn't let me run my cut-out open so I closed the cut-out, but when I did the car couldn't handle it & blew the damb thing open & bent the shaft & butterfly :( My best was 13.3@116mph I was crawling out of the hole, with some traction I bet its got 12's & 118mph in her. talos 04-10-2004, 05:43 PM  Ouchy bunker 04-10-2004, 05:47 PM well the MPH says I have power, ET don't mean didly squat on the street. But yeah I hate the tech guys. 95wagon 04-10-2004, 08:22 PM Originally posted by bunker ET don't mean didly squat on the street. Oh really? talos 04-10-2004, 08:42 PM Originally posted by 95wagon Oh really? oldschool 04-10-2004, 08:44 PM Matt is just bitter because he is a "proud" owner of one of GM's greatest engineering marvels: the 10-Bolt;) JD30thZ28 04-10-2004, 09:59 PM Matt ...... read my sig :p bunker 04-11-2004, 01:33 AM Bah. Gerry, your car impresses me with it's MPH which is crazy for a car of that weight, 100.5 range MPH is insane, & yes ET is just a bonus the way I think of it. & 116mph is impressive for an F-body. So to make things clear to Andy, there are 11 second F-bodies making countless passes out there with their stock 10 bolts, you know how? AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION! Why bother building up your drivetrain so much when an M6 isn't the way to go for ET anyways, why not just get an automatic tranmission & be able to get away with much weaker drivetrain that doesn't drain your bankbook & your Horsepower. Look at Sideways & learn, no matter how he built up his 12 bolt something would always give, now some guy out there with a stock 10 bolt is running Payam's times with an automatic. Andy, your going the wrong way. LT1Z28 04-11-2004, 12:57 PM no he went the right way it is called a 9 inch :p As for guys not breaking stock 10 bolts with autos matt it is all a matter of time some get away with it others dont. Hell mine blew on the street with no real abuse no slicks and just a bad flippin day :p But dont worry when yours blows up i will have a spare for yah :p 93formula 04-11-2004, 03:20 PM if my ten bolt blows up im getting another ten bolt. :D bunker 04-12-2004, 03:49 AM No kidding, you guys act like the 12 bolts don't blow up, when there is probably more 12 bolts being blown up then there are 10 bolts in our cars & I repeat, in OUR CARS, I don't want history of the horrible 10 bolts. Just saying, 12 bolts blow up too lol. Look at Rybar, he wined about his 10 bolt blowing up, got a 12 bolt & it went south LOL. Most people have other issues perhaps, maybe bent torque arm or something & they immidiately call the 10 bolt a piece. But like stated, when mine blows I'll rebuild it, because quite frankly I've put about 4k miles of HARD 400RWHP pounding & powershifting on this thing on the street & it doesn't even wine, so its all about how you set it up aswell. So a 10 bolt is all you need on street tires, but blows up with a combination of traction & M6 tranny, the 12 bolt blows up with that combination aswell & is overkill for street tires, so its either 9" or nothing, I'm sorry but I don't want to haul something that will eat 6% of my Horsepower around town just so I can put on some slicks 1 mission event & launch breaking something else if not the rear, plus did I mention incorrect DS alignment issues with 9"? Yeah not to great for driving around town for your output shaft on tranny either. Than lets go into all rear ends in general, you want to go fast? So you have to ditch the POSI unit now, or put heavy A$$ springs in it, now you have yourself a car that wants to spin both wheels around a corner, you've just ruined your car bud. upgradedsupra 04-13-2004, 02:01 AM Nice numbers bunker. And I get hassle when I ran 12.5 @ 122 street tires :p I can wait to run this year with the new set-up! You were at the dyno when I showed up at SNK's? I heard of your run ;) Duane Mid 12's should be no problem with even street tires bunker 04-13-2004, 02:13 AM Yeah I was :) Rybar 04-13-2004, 12:48 PM Bunker, the 10-bolt will hold on, but it's only a matter of time before it goes. I ran a set of GM 3.73's in my 10-bolt for about 4 seasons pounding 400 + rwhp to it. Then one day it went, and it was a roller coaster ride after that. 3 sets of new gears later I decided it had to go. The problem with my Strange 12-bolt was a retainer clip in the posi unit broke, dis-lodged and the metal shavings ruined all my bearings/clutch packs etc. The gears, posi, and axles are all fine. I never did feel an ounce of hp loss going from 10-bolt to 12-bolt. I think it's pretty good insurance to have on a car with the power yours has. Heck I blew up my stock 10-bolt twice even before I installed the blower, the car back then had 300 rwhp. I don't know much about the nine inch, but I'd say it would be worth it, even if you lose a few hp from it. Good luck on that 10-bolt. thelaws69 04-15-2004, 08:49 PM Hi, I ran a 13.3 on my first trip out to mission. It was great. Except for some newbie mistakes at the start line. I wonder how fast I could have run without the weight of the rollcage? blue 79 Z/28 04-15-2004, 09:40 PM just for the record were talking 7.5" 10 bolt, 8.5" 10 bolt is a different story. :D oh and whats wrong with spools, big rearends and power robbing drivetrain? lol solution: make more power and go faster:cool: 93formula 04-15-2004, 09:55 PM race car is one thing, daily driving is another. you cant have both in one car. NiteRider 04-15-2004, 11:59 PM Daily Driver... LT1Z28 04-16-2004, 12:31 AM Thats why you have to own several cars. In all reality boys i use to want what you guys want however you will soon realize that in time there is only one way to go. Once you hit that point you will understand what i am saying. Later Mike The guy that has a drag car that will cruise the streets once in a while. It may corner like **** but it will sure fishtail pretty ;) | ||
