cant afford expensive brake pads or slotted rotors should i have mine cut

its like 40.00 to have them cut, will this make them usable for a while? and will regular brake pads, maybe raybestos be ok for now? i cant afford those overpriced brake kits everyone sells

Depending on how much metal is left it'd be alright to have them turned. But for that much money you might be able to goto Autozone or any competitor and get some cheapy rotors for about that much.

Get them cut if theres alot left to the metal. If not get some crossed drills. Easiest way to get rotors to last long is change your brake pads right away when they start to go avoids costly rotors.

Cheapie rotors are usually cheap for a reason. Not so many cooling vanes. Less metal mass etc, so it your stockers don't need a lot turned off them re-use them. Cross drilled etc. are a waste of money, period. A good set of pads can be had for about the same price as those you would get at the dealer. Check out Strano's prices on Hawk pads.
