How can I put 18x12's in he backJohnnynsac 04-08-2004, 04:23 PM Just as the question ask. What are my options? Anyone know? OnefstCamaroZ28 04-08-2004, 05:02 PM 12's!!! dude u wont be able to go over a bump cause the tire will mess up ur quarter panel, 11's are like that but not as bad as 12's, what do u currently have AW/whiteZ-28 04-08-2004, 05:06 PM "Mini tub" it, ask local shops for quotes I'd like to know to for future reference. ;) Johnnynsac 04-08-2004, 08:55 PM Yea, I was thinking of the mini tub. Impala owners do it in there SS all the time. I'm going to check out some body shops and see what they could do. I have the stockers on anyone else? 97TA-WS6-Con 04-08-2004, 09:20 PM I have been entertaining going to 12.5's but flaring the fenders. A mini tub would be a HUGE job. 95_LT1_6SPD 04-10-2004, 08:48 PM Originally posted by Johnnynsac Yea, I was thinking of the mini tub. Impala owners do it in there SS all the time. Lucas Black 04-10-2004, 09:35 PM a lot of fender flaring would be necessary. its possible, just tedious so as to make it look good. bigdreamZ 04-11-2004, 07:13 PM Yeah just mini tub it. Here is some pics of a local guy that mini tubbed his T/A: AutoXRacr (http://www.cardomain.com/id/autoxracr) I love how it looks....my 9.5 inch rims are way too skinny, I plan to do this in the future. Dang that thing is mean looking!!! I woulda gone with rolling the fenders and cutting some plastic away, but scrap that, tub it!!!! I'm just mad cause mini-tubing wont help me mount my dubz lol. 20x9 with a crazy offset. phrozen 04-12-2004, 12:59 PM this might be of some interest for you. This guy put 17x11 315s on his 97 camaro. http://u2.netgate.net/~jshapiro/z28/315s/index.html Johnnynsac 04-13-2004, 03:08 PM Originally posted by phrozen this might be of some interest for you. You'd probably need a shortend rear end, alot of cutting and custom rims. bigdreamZ, that bird looks great the way he did it. He even put Wilwood breaks on it. 97TA-WS6-Con 04-20-2004, 09:26 PM I spoke to a very good custom guy about flaring the fenders on the back for the big rims. He said that he could do it but because I have a black car it would take HUGE time to get the flares perfect. Serious time and money as a result. I'm not going to do it at this time. 95_LT1_6SPD 04-21-2004, 11:08 PM Originally posted by Johnnynsac 17x11 look and handle better then my 17x9 but imagine 17x13 or 18x12 or even 13 with 335's in the back:bow: The bad thing this isn't a easy job. I have 335's in the back with no shortened rearend or mini tub, mounted on a 17x11 wheel. http://community.webshots.com/photo/96532618/134396788oUAJSI Modifications needed: BFH, BFG, and a wooden baseball bat to roll the fender lip with. Well worth the 1-2 hours i put into it, because i seriously get a woody everytime i look at my car. | ||
