Need new pads and rotors, suggestions...

I have a question about purchasing new brakes. I have a 2002 WS6 with 18 inch nittos with 18x10 Smoothie 2's. I need to purchase new brake pads and rotors for my car. What would be a good upgrade over the stock brakes and rotors? I definitely don't want GM parts. I don't autocross, and I'm mainly looking for an improvement in performance for daily/street use. The only thing is right now I don't have a lot of money to throw around, so the $2-3000 brake setups unfortunately are out of the question. So can any of you give me any suggestions of some good companies to purchase brakes and rotors from? I know a search could help me, but figured that you guys could steer me in the right direction based on my wheel size.Thanks.

So how much do you want to spend and what size brakes do you want? I assume you want something larger than a 12 inch (something along the lines of a 13 or 14 inch rotor setup?) Are you wanting just a front setup or do you need them all the way around?

I know you can get a Baer front setup from T-Byrne for about a grand (13.15" 2 piece rotors/slotted/cross drilled)

Is that around your price range?

Corvette brakes would be a good upgrade from yours now. Especially since you don't have enough for the big time kits. I have hawk pads on the front and back, I noticed a difference when I got them. Pretty cheap too. It was 110 for both. Power slot makes rotors that are around 4-500 for the 4. Why are you opposed to GM parts?

Sorry about the confusion, I should have said I don't want the same stock brakes and rotors that GM uses for the F-body. If GM sells rotors that are an improvement in braking performance over stock, then I'd consider them against aftermarket based on price and quality. I want to do all 4, and would rather not spend more than a grand. Thanks

My vote is to go for the C5 brakes. Check out what www.gmpartsdirect.com has. I know they have to have them. They have everything :)

C5 sounds good. Or you can do the powerslot and hawk route. I really do like my hawk pads.
