Zerocool 04-07-2004, 01:28 PM my stock ones feel kinda wraped to me plus this gives me a reason to upgrade them, should i get cross drilled or slotted or the combo of slotted cross drilled? i heard slotted are the best but i want to know for sure. oh yea where is a good place to find 4 of these rotors at a good cost. thanks guys
psychocabbage 04-07-2004, 01:36 PM do you road race? if not its not worth it..
Just replace them with autozone rotors.. they are better and last longer than stock.
slotted rotors eat up pads
drilled rotors, often, if cheap, will crack.
if you spend $ and get good ones but never really use them its a waste.
ImportKILLER 04-07-2004, 03:13 PM I'm using Brembo blanks. Nothing fancy and fairly inexpensive.
i have baer eradispeeds in the rears.
they look coooooooool.
cndctrdj 04-07-2004, 06:34 PM i dont road race but i go fast every once in a while and i got slotted up front it made a world of difference when i am in traffic they don't warp at all
Zerocool 04-07-2004, 10:46 PM i go fast every once in a while to i would also like brakes that look good and perform well also. how much??
thanks
slomarao 04-08-2004, 01:07 AM If you have a lt1 get the ls1 brakes they are around 300 and will be a lot better. If you have an ls1 car and 17's get the c5 front brakes. Those are better. If you just want to throw some hawk pads and brakes lines with good fluid, again better than stock. But if you got some money there is Baer,Bremo, etc. that have 12-14 inch rotors, a whole new assembly, everything.
rskrause 04-09-2004, 07:50 AM I'd use stockers unless I was upgrading the whole brake system.

bowtiepwr 04-09-2004, 06:20 PM >Has anyone dealt with the rotors from Power Slot called "Pro Stop" http://www.powerslot.com/prostop.html ?
cndctrdj 04-09-2004, 08:04 PM i got my powerslot brakes really cheap from autozone i thionk they were 30 or 60 bucks, anyways get some hawk pads and goot brake fluid and that should hold you for a while, the only time they fade is when i slow down fast from 130-140 but i dont do that much so its ok
S.J.S. 04-10-2004, 04:54 AM I got my Pro Stop slotted rotors off of ebay for like 80 bucks for 2. They're made by Hawks Racing.
bad95formula 04-10-2004, 08:52 PM I have an LT1 and will be going with Z06 brakes. A great, inexpensive way to go.
cndctrdj 04-12-2004, 07:00 PM its only inexpensive if you already have 17 inch rims

true I second that. Had stock salad shooters before I did mine but it was worth it. I also agree that going with stock is just fine unless autocrossing, but if you wish, upgrading is never a bad thing. A lot of people recommend those Aimco rotors from AutoZone and thats what's goin on my rear.

thanks guys C5 rotors are 12.8". The Z06brakes are the same, there's no different in the brakes an ANY C5 vette Z06 or otherwise. You would have to get adaptor brackets that are currently no longer made to mount the Vette caliper in the right position for the larger rotor. In the GP forum Speed Specialty is tryin to get Bob Bishop to make another batch of brackets so you might want to check that out. I paid about $750 shipped total for all my parts from GM and that includes the adaptor brackets when I bought them in September from Bob.
