Brake pads? Which ones?

Hey guys
time has SCREEEECCHHH come for me to ScREEEECCHHH change my SCREEEcCCHHH brake pads SCREEEEECCCHHH. (sorry, i know thats gay, but its late and im bored lol) So y wuestion is shich brake pads are good? theyre not all that hard to put in are they? im a fairly decent mechanic i dont hink they wouldbe, just makin sure. THanks guys (and girls ;)

I've been very pleased with my AutoZone Aimco rotors ($34 each) and Raybestos ceramic pads ($150 for 4 wheels) The ceramic pads are quiet and dustless.

We have added a few new forums, and one is for Susppension, Chassis and Brakes.

I am moving this one there now...

I did front pads on my camaro, put on Hawk HP pads on, work well, good stopping power, and like $52 from jegs. =)

I have never doen brakes myself, nor anything else for that matter, and I was able to change them myself in about 1 to 2 hours.

If I was to do it over, I can do it in abou 45 to 1 hour.

Just make sure you have the right tools. You will need i forget, 15mm? hex wrench, get it on a socket. =) and a torque wrench, those are a must. Get plenty of brake cleen asit helps.

i use the hawks and some 10 dollar rotors, they all seem to work fine....

I bought NAPA Ceramix front and rear for my car. Unfortunatly, I was unable to afford the good rotors, so I was forced to buy the cheapies. Either way I think my pads are excellent. They stop very well, They've never squeaked, AND they leave VERY VERY little brake dust. I had some semi-metallics on before and after a week my wheels were almost black. I decided it was time to buy the ceramixs. I think it was a problem with the brake pads though, I've never had a set dust that bad. For the NAPA Ceramix's I paid somewhere around 50 for the front and 70 for the rear. I used my works discount on those so I'm not sure what they'd cost to the average walk in customer.

I got hawks all four wheels. I got powerslots on the front and cheap advance on the rear. I wouldn't spend a ton on rear rotors since front is where 70% stopping comes from on a rear wheel drive.

I like my EBC pads, but theyre a tad on the expensive side.

I've been on EBC Greenstuff for a couple years now. I will NEVER go back. I don't get brake fade nearly as bad as stock, and all I'm using is those and Hawks Pro-Stop slotted rotors (the ebay specials). Stops a helluva lot better too.

got me some Hawk Pads and some Pro Stop slotted rotors off of Ebay.

I just installed a set of the Hawk HPS pads on all four corners this past week and I have been impressed with them so far.

I have Hawk HPS pads(stock on Vette Z06) on my C5 brakes up front and I just ordered rear HPS pads too. Probably going to get some AutoZone Aimco rear rotors while I'm at it too.

Where do you get the EBC Greenstuff pads?
