I would like to take this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2471113554&category=33652) off of my car to have painted. The best I can guess is that the headliner needs to be taken out of the car, and it bolts on under there? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Camaros have the UniBody chassis so I don't think it bolted on. You're probably gonna have to cut it off. But why not just tape off the car and paint it? Am I missing something?

Well, I'm at school and I have a guy about 1½ hr away that could paint it. I figured if it was easy to take off, I could just leave him that part and pick it up in a week or so since I can't be without the car.

in sure Chucky knows a little about this, but i think its glued on there. You just have to pry it off.

It's glued with a special uratheane adhesive. GM has had some problem with the fiberglass absorbing the adhesive and causeing the paint to bubble. To remove the factory piece you have to use a piano wire to cut the adhesive. If you look for the TSB on roof panel bubbling, it has the instructions on removing and installing it, plus the adhesive.

Thanks for the info. I think it is the sun that caused my paint to chip and fade at the top, but do you know of GM will cover the repaint if it was caused by their glue?
