Where can I buy front license plate mounting bracket?warwickbass 04-03-2004, 05:40 PM Thanks. Didn't see any at Autozone or whatever. madwolf 04-03-2004, 05:42 PM Your local dealership would probably be your best bet. ;) warwickbass 04-03-2004, 05:45 PM I thought so, but it'll probably be cheaper somewhere else..lol.. RyanS_Z28 04-03-2004, 05:52 PM why? they are ugly most likely cops wont pull you over. ive had my car for a year already and no one has looked twice at me with no front plate and blacked out lenses warwickbass 04-03-2004, 05:55 PM Everytime I get pulled over I get a warning about the plates. I'm sure I'll eventually get a ticket from some asswipe... RyanS_Z28 04-03-2004, 05:58 PM haha so stop getting pulled over. maybe you need to invest in a laser detector instead of a front plate. ive been "warned" once with this car but no tickets. he didnt mention the plates warwickbass 04-03-2004, 06:00 PM I have a radar detector. RyanS_Z28 04-03-2004, 06:02 PM stop speeding? i mean if the speed limit is 40 and you floor it to 40 there is no harm in that, but if the speed limit is 40 and your cruising at 60 there is just no excuse. if you are going to speed do it on the highway and follow someone who is speeding to stay out of the way of the radar warwickbass 04-03-2004, 06:04 PM Originally posted by RyanS_Z28 stop speeding? i mean if the speed limit is 40 and you floor it to 40 there is no harm in that, but if the speed limit is 40 and your cruising at 60 there is just no excuse. if you are going to speed do it on the highway and follow someone who is speeding to stay out of the way of the radar Oh, God. Like I don't know how to drive my ****ing car. I average about 90 mph on the expressway. It's just sometimes you can't see what's on the OTHER side of the hill. Or your damn headlight goes out, bla bla bla. Multiple reasons for getting pulled over. RyanS_Z28 04-03-2004, 06:07 PM the problem lies in the driving not in the plates is what im saying. its like if you have a pound of weed in the back of the car its not a good idea to go screaming down the road. i wouldnt want to be the poor guy stuck in traffic on the other side of a hill and some guy crashes into me going 90 because he was going way too fast warwickbass 04-03-2004, 06:09 PM Ok, you missed my point. Later. Terran2k 04-03-2004, 06:11 PM I've gotten pulled over and ticketed for the sole fact of not having a plate. radar detector wont help you there. anyway, i still havent put on my front plate. i did buy the slp mounting bracket when i got my 1st ticket, its been in the trunk ever since. bdc95ta 04-03-2004, 06:11 PM if you live by me you can have mine -b warwickbass 04-03-2004, 06:13 PM Originally posted by bdc95ta if you live by me you can have mine -b Ok, I live in Pearland. Right next to Houston. RyanS_Z28 04-03-2004, 06:15 PM i think they are hideous. unless the city fined me a considerable ammount i wouldnt do it bdc95ta 04-03-2004, 07:03 PM alrighty I live in cypress just outside of houston if you want to meet somewhere in between us that's cool my name's brandon and my # is 281-376-6096. Cool. I'll give you a call sometime. Replica 04-10-2004, 01:59 PM Originally posted by Bud M In just, had to buy one. I got it from Jason Cromer, it cost $18. a lot of the cops in Sacramento and the outlying areas (Roseville, Folsom, etc) are cracking down hard on no front plates and other stuff. They seem to be lumping in the domestic guys in with the ricers and thinking we are all the same and harassing some of the local fbody guys. There have been quite a few posts on the norcal ls1/lt1 board about this exact thing. warwickbass 04-10-2004, 02:16 PM Jerks. Makes it harder for them to gun you. Haha. b-stevens 04-10-2004, 03:50 PM I think their hideous as well, but I have put them on my car because of being pulled over numerous times for it. Many of my friends get pulled over as well, and some don't get tickets, but alot do. And NO, its not because they're driving like idiots. Tair 04-10-2004, 04:12 PM I feel sorry for you guys that HAVE to put front license plates on. I haven't had a front license plate on for about a year now, with 0 hassles whatsoever. I park next to 2 cops every day at work. I guess it helps that the 2 cop cars are a red LS1 SS and a black Stang GT. bigfoot2471 04-11-2004, 01:21 AM i just got pulled over for this exact reason tonight. no ticket this is the second time i have gotten pulled over for it. i am thinking seriously about getting one. but they are so f***ing ugly. just outa curiousity anyone know how much the ticket for that runs i have a feeling i wont get another warning. | ||
