Swapping 700r4 into 1982 - what parts do I need?

-I guess a crossmember from a 700r4 car(this one is a 5 litre Z28 with a 200r?) it's too small
-A shifter and shift linkage from a 700r4 car
-The neutral safety cable from the the 700r4 car
-drivshaft from a 700r4 car

Anything else?
The 1982 does not appear to have ever been offered with the 700r4. Will have to drill some new holes for the shift as the base is different from the 200r and get a new shift indicater for the console.
Do I actually need the neutral safety cable.? I know what can happen because I had a manual to auto conversion in an old Torino Cobra but if I don't care about it does the cable serve any other purpose?

In answer to my own question it looks like I might be able to just notch the 200r shifter to increase the total throw enough to work the 700r4 linkage and then also be able to use the existing neutral safety. A couple of samll problems rectified.

you might need the fly wheel also. dont forget the converter also. i dont know how well the tranny will work with the stock ecu, so id invest in a 700r4 kit. tci makes one and so does painless. allows you to swap the tranny in anycar without the computer. i believe the kit runs off a vacuum to kick in the 4thgear. without the kit, you have no 4th and no lockup

Already have the driveshaft Dave. In Canada so it would have been a long ways to ship anyhow.

actually a 700r crossmember from a newer camaro wont work on your 82 unless you redrill and tap your frame
i had to modify my 200c crossmember to get it to work with my 700r
i tried a crossmember from the 84z that my 700 came outa and it wasn't even close :/
