Tried it out tonight and I made some progress. There was only 20-25 cars there tops so I could do just about whatever I wanted. I loaded in a new updated program to try and slow the car a bit. I took out 2 degree timing and moved the shiftpoins, closed the cutout and aired up the tires a bit. First run I let off because I didn know what the car would do, and they told me as I went in to keep it in the 12's.
rt +.177
60-1.58
1/8-7.67@89.13
1/4-12.48@83:D:D I told you I let off;)
it began to drizzle a bit so they closed the track for a bit.

Judging from that I decided I could try a full pass and keep it in the 12's. second run I blew the tires off
rt -.025
60-1.91
the rest isnt worth telling, I got a little sideways, a little scared and let off. They announced that due to a lack of participation they were closing early so i made 1 more run.

rt +.225
60-1.57
1/8-7.57@89.3
1/4-11.95@113.2

I managed to adjust the shifts to keep it off the rev limiter but I still have to go more. My 1/8 times are slower than last week so its working, I just need to take out some more rpm. Shifts are still up around 6500. For Sat im going to fill tha tank and knock another 2-3 mph off the 1-2 shift. And leave the cutout closed just like tonight.Hopefully that will do the trick.

BTW, i picked up a new problem. I think my battery has gone south from sitting around for so long. Its having a hard time starting, either that or I need a bigger alternator, or maybe both;)

Almost in the 12's eh? It's funny to hear someone on this board talk about how he's trying to slow his car down!!!

Brian, you might want to leave it alone. The temps are going up and in the summer you will run slower. With a 12.0 dial you have .050 to play with at the end of the track. You can always "back" into you opponent. Looks like you have a great 12.0 index car. :D

Good news/bad news is that I gave up on trying to run in the 12's. Quote from Joe O. "ya all gona have a hard time running 12.0 with this car". :D

See ya Saturday. ;)

Yeah it is really weird to say that. Its the first time in my life I have tried to slow a car down... its not as easy as it sounds. Anyone can slow it down but to do it and still be consistant is a real job. The way it sits is pretty good. Once the bar is in it will be better.

BTW, I left out 1 item untill I knew for sure. On my last run I had some funny sounds from the back end... I drained some oil out of the rear and there is some metal in it. I think the rear might be fubar again:(. Good thing I have that 12bolt to build up.

well I might have jinxed myself by ordering the spool for it last week;). All hope isnt gone just yet. My last rear had metal in the oil for over a year... it lost an axle bearing long before i blew the carrier in it.

The car still moves and drives fine, I might have a bearing going south in it... and I can still use it like that:D.

sweet... Once i'm tuned, and get my DR's on, i'll be heading to atco... Hopefully i'll get kicked out... ;)

Until then I'll enjoy the sounds the car is making without being able to put any of the power to the street...
