New Hemi Commercial

Anybody seen the commercial for the new Hemi trucks coming out? My brother said it has a HD Ram towing a 68 Charger. A car pulls up next to him, and the guy says something to the tune of "That thing got a Hemi in it? The guy in the truck says Yup and takes off. At the next stop light, he says, 'So does the one in back", referring to the Charger. Now why can't GM do something like that? All they have is the lame Overdrive junk with spinning cars on a white background. Anybody fixing to get one of these new Hemis? I'm a Chevy guy, but you gotta love those Elephants.

GM advertises like they have Hyundai's heritage. Why does it seem like they can't do anything the "right way" sometimes? Sounds like Ford and Dodge get it. Maybe they're trying to think up more things to do with a Grand Am/Vibe for a day or ways to "make change" out of an Avalanche. :(

I thought Caddy has been doing good...and some of Pontiac's are nice...otherwise what does GM have to be proud of?

Definatlly agree on the Caddy part. Incorporating the 60s Caddys into the the new ads with the Zep is cool as hell :) Ive heard nothing but positive feedback about them. Maybe they'll take an ad back to the 1913 era when Caddy was THE major innovator in automotive tech :)

The Vibe ad with the DJ isnt bad, but at the end you're still like "its a vibe." The absolute worst were the $35 budget "what would you do with a pontiac" ads. Jesus Christ they should shoot whoever designed those 40 times. I think they shot those with super 8.

The overdrive ads were cool for like a few weeks, now its just "wow, they're definatlly spinning."

I like the Cadillac commercials a lot. Playing Zeplin with the line up sure sends out an image about Cadillac. The styling is setting apart the cars from others on the road, helping its resurgance. Now the commercials stand out and distinguish Cadillac from these other boring, drab luxury car commercials. Two thummbs up on the ads to Cadillac. Cadillac will be the force that gives GM the momentum to resurrect performance in the next few years.

That Dodge commercial was cool. Most of theirs are.

Then you have GM commercials. With the exception of the afformentioned Cadillac ads, they are dull and boring. A Vibe spins around. A Silverado spins around. Taz drives a Monte Carlo. Woooo-eeeeee!

Caddy's line of "Break Through" commercials are fantastic.

They have an 'edge'... just like the Arts & Sciences design theme :)

I did forget to mention the Caddy commercials. Those are sweet. Love the Zepplin and the old Caddy with the new. I figured if one division of GM can get them right, why can't they all? I'm actually looking forward to the debut of the Hemi Dakota, those will absolutly fly, regardless if its a truck. I may have to get in line and pick one up if possible.

Wasn't it last year Chevy had those heritage commercials, with the 1st gen Camaro at the drag strip? I liked those, but of course now something like that would be dumb, unless they showed something that was still alive. Maybe the Vette?

We need some good commercials when the 5th gen comes out. I only hope that there will be something that will be radical and put the Camaro back into the spotlight much like what has happened with Cadillac. Like, I actually thought of this one in the car today while driving to Burbank.
Imagine a Mustang Cobra stopped at a red light at a small intersection and in the distance the 5th gen rolls. Use the camera to show all of its angles and a low rumble for the exhaust. As it pulls up behind the Mustang, the announcer reads: "Corvette racing derived LS2 V8 engine," "5 star crash rating," "30 mpg fuel economy." After the quick lines are read, the 5th gen behind the Mustang begins to rev its engine showing off a deep throaty exhaust sound. It revs for a while and then there is a behind shot of the Mustang, and all of a sudden, the right blinker turns on, and the Mustang makes a right turn instead of going straight at the light, getting out of the way of the Camaro. Then looknig at a frontal shot of the Camaro it is read "And is more powerful than the Mustang Cobra, Charger R/T, and 350Z." The screen flashes black showing the Camaro logo with in lettering above it "Camaro" and below in larger text "Heritage." The announcer says "Camaro SS, now with the Z28 performance and handling option. See your local Chevrolet dealer today."

I'd be satisfied with an updated version of that last Trans Am comercial in 78 (the one that eats another car at a stoplight). :D

they never do'em right. Commercials that is. With a rare exception to the one where the Trans AM eats that other car, that was good, to bad I only saw it like once in my entire life.

The new one with the pontiac grand am riding in the desert and they got the helicopter floatin around, notice how they seem to be spinning just right not to show that convertible trans am? Makes me mad, if u catch it just right at the end, you can see it.

The vibe, they have it sitting on road, telling people to get in it and look at that amazing chrome guage panel (sarcasm)

I think mountain dew has done a better job. With that early gen Trans AM in the air rolling, and the guy reaches out to grab the due, its awesome, i don't even think about the dew itself, but the actual vibe of the guy puttin it to the floor.

but it could be worse, all I gotta say is that i'll never own a car whos commercial revovles around a little boy saying "zoom zoom zoom"
