4th gen dash in a 1st gen?

Just a crazy idea I had, with inspiration....

Go to Pro-touring.com there are quite a few people that have done that swap. Might be some people on this board too. Good luck and it looks pretty sweet when finished.

Sounds like a pretty big undertaking. You better have some balls to get into it.:) I bet it would look pretty sweet though with the matching seats and console. :cool: :cool:

I saw a modern Chevy truck swap that looked pretty cool once.

It does look really nice when it's finished. I have a 94 console that might go into my car. It had 96 camaro z28 seats that are gonig to be recovered to look like the original buckets.

Did anyone see the "MadVette" in Super Chevy Mag? Basically a Corvette with Nomad body...it was cool. This just made me think of that.

Hey Cochese, it's been done, and it looks trick, but it really needs to be followed through with to make it look right. As mentioned above, you need to do the seats and the console as well, getting it all to flow so it doesn't look like a hack job. Of course, that's just my opinion. I say run with it, it will work.

Yeah, I would absolutely do the whole deal, seats, etc for the finished look.

My inspiration comes from a Alex Djordvedic(sp?) car featured in the Sept 95 issue of Hot Rod (The Road Warrior). I was thinking about doing a 69 Camaro and doing it up like that, or my ultimate goal: a 69 Firebird, make it into a TA clone on the outside, and white leather 25th or 30th TA seats and the TA dash/console. Replete with a modern drivetrain, probably LS1/LS6 with a T-56.

A sort of 'Heritage' TA...

It's already been done. A bodyshop in my hometown did the conversion to a '69 SS. They added the 4th gen hood scoop, wheels, seats, dash, etc. Not my cup of tea, no telling what they had in it. Give me a non-hacked up car please.
