Calling all College Station and Houston area F bodies!

March 27th, me and Rick (Phat T/A), are trying to plan a raceday at HMP, a brand new 1/8 mile track in Houston! I haven't been there yet, but Rick has, and he says it's awesome. We're going to try to bring a good amount of people from here in College Station, and I just wanted to send an invite to other F body owners in the area that want to take it to the track w/ some good street races! You can look for my car, it is a white LT1 Trans Am with 17 inch Silver Borbet wheels on it. Very distinct looking rims, so just come by and say what up and we can have a good day of racing!

Here's a link to my car that you can be looking for:

See you there!

I live about 15 mins from the new track, but my tranny went out a couple of weeks ago so haven't had a chance to head out there.

If I get my car back in time I will definately be checkin it out.

I also got a couple of friends with f-bodies and see if their down for it.

That's too bad, hopefully you can get your tranny fixed. Tell your friends like you said, the more the merrier.

Hey that sounds cool, my best friend lives in College Station, so maybe I can talk him into me and him rollin' out there.

Here's a short vid of his car that I made, mine is in there (just sitting) too. :p

I don't recognize those cars, but I do recognize those apts in the background, that's about 3 mins from where I live. How's that 3rd gen run? A good friend of mine, Doug (FacelessZ on here) goes to Baylor, he drives a 95 Forest green Z28 w/ Torq thrust IIs, and full slew of bolt ons, LTs, RRs, etc. He's going.

Directions to track:
http://www.houstonspeedway.com/ddirect.htm

Admission is $20 to race, $10 to watch.
Gates open at 12 noon, race till whenever. We'll probably Aim to be there by 12ish.

Helmets are required if your car is 8.6 sec or faster.

Sounds good, my friend with the third gen has never had his car at the track either. I'm waitin' to see some numbers from that thing myself. I'm guessing from what he's got in it, probably low 13's or maybe even high 12's. But yeah he lives on Holleman St. behind the HEB and I have a cousin that lives in the ghetto off of Villa Maria St. I should be moving up there in about a year or so to go to Blinn. Is your buddy FacelessZ on here? If so he is on a local board that I'm on.

FastWhiteTA
03-14-2004, 06:55 PM
Yeah facelessz is on here, under that name.

low 13s, high 12s is pretty dang good for a 3rd gen, don't see many 12 sec third gens around. I'll have to keep an eye out for him on the street, what does he have done to it?

It's got a 358ci sbc, well built TH350 tranny w/ 3,200 stall (by Goebel Transmissions) long tubes, borla xr-1 muffler, and a bunch of suspension mods (i.e spohn torque arm, sfc's, lower control arms.....ect). He just needs to get that ugly thing painted now. :p

FastWhiteTA
03-14-2004, 07:38 PM
That's cool.

If you go, you're going to have to bring your video camera, so we can have some video of the day to post here.

Maybe post some good races and stuff.

I will be there :D

I went last week on a test and tune day and the track prep was outstanding...very nice track, very clean and since not alot of people have heard of it yet there was almost no wait time inbetween runs!

Yeah I talked to him earlier , he said the pedals are in. We'll have to show him how to drive, since the tranny won't even be in there a week when he 1st takes it to a track.

Yeah, count me in. I'm installing a secret weapon tomorrow...should add a little fun. hmm...150 what?

Heres that dyno. The first two runs were with the a/c on... The n2o run was without the a/c and you can see how much more torque and hp I had. Not sure if it makes a big difference up top, but I lost over 20ft-lbs at 3400rpm.

I know he used to go there all the time with his roomie Matt (who drives a black H/C '99 SS) Darrell's car (FastWhiteTA) is one of the cleanest F-bodies I've ever seen! Its supposed to be pretty quick too...but guess we'll see...

Ed,

He's the guy with the white T/A I came in last time I went to car club. He wishes his car was quick ;) :p

Yeah I've been there quite a bit, like Rick said, I drive a White LT1 T/A that I wish was fast ;)

And Matt (my roommate) drives the Black Heads and Cam SS w/ the 315 nittos on the back, very nice.

Thanks for the compliment Doug...and...224/230 is going in??????

What's w/ that? Thought you were going 230/236?

Sweet either way, hope it's in by the track, outta make a damn fine race between the two of us! ;)

Matt needs to call me sometime this week Darrel. I think I got some ET streets for him real cheap. They are just 26's though so it wont be enough for him in the 1/4 but will do for now in an 1/8th....these are in great shape and I think I can scrape em hella cheap.

Looking forward to seeing some cool racing on the 27th!

Aww you're gonna be in Vegas :( Sad day, heh, I love Vegas, my gf went last weekend for 4 days. I had to work.

I bought all of Aaron's rims and et streets, and Matt bought the salad shooters from me, so he'll need a set of tires for next weekend. I'll have him call you.

ill be workin, not playing..

Kart race that weekend. Granted, its fun.. but I sitll cant go party. Sponsors like me taking this stuff seriously :-D

03-21-2004, 12:42 PM
Ahh, thought you were going for fun. Yeah too bad you can't make it down w/ us. Should be a good time.

And Lee: I can't see your dyno chart for some reason, you'll have to show me sometime. 20 ft lbs is a lot of tq for having your A/C on, man it really must make a big difference.

JordonMusser
03-21-2004, 12:47 PM
having AC on shouldnt effect your HP/TQ much.. because the PCM disengages the AC clutch at WOT..

FastWhiteTA
03-21-2004, 12:49 PM
Hmm, I didn't know that, that's good to know when you have the a/c on it is dis engaging the a/c clutch.

I wont be there any time soon but i'll be in college station this upcoming fall depending on how things go. Might have a co-op with garrett turbos for the summer and fall semester but i'm transferring from CSU to A&M. Also if i dont get the co-op i might be able to finish up my 69 camaro project and drive it to school in the fall.

See you guys later this year!

hey i will probably come also. there website says its closed on that saturday the 27th, did yall meen friday?

FastWhiteTA
03-21-2004, 09:40 PM
Dang, good thing you saw that. When I checked a few weeks ago it was still open that day (or so I thought). We might have to do it on the 28th then. That's a Sunday instead of Saturday. There are a few of us who work on Fridays and wouldn't be able to get out early enough. Sunday will work better, so we can all meet up and cruise on down there.

we had a really fun time! Alot of cars from everywhere showed up!

Fastwhite T/A was having problems bogging, even after launching it off of 5 grand hehehe...he will need a little more gear before he can go back to the track..

the black SS ran mid 7's all night long...we are hoping with a little more tunning and a better 60ft to get the times down to low 7's...this was all on motor btw....

FastWhiteTA
03-28-2004, 02:20 PM
Yep, I was boggin pretty bad. I even tried a couple 5200 rpm launches. Stock gears (3.42s) were not allowing me to get a good launch. I got a couple low 8 sec passes in, on 1.95-2.0 60's. 4.10s and 3" true duals and high 7s are in the bag, hehe.

Then there was a Blue z28 running low 5.0's @ 128, heh, pretty amazing.

JurisAg02
03-28-2004, 02:45 PM
gears alone should be enough to get you in the 7's with that "baby cam" ;)

say it with me now..."Nitrous is goooood"....SPRAY THAT MOTOR! :D

FastWhiteTA
03-28-2004, 04:13 PM
Yeah that's probably true, I think I have 7s w/ my engine setup just the way it is now, just need the gears so I can get off the line, and not just creep along for the 1st 100 feet.
