What else would cause a fire to jump other than the obvious?
I am stumped.
NGK pulgs TR55(iridian), Taylor Wires & Over the Valve Cover Looms:
Changed for the original plugs & wires to these when I installed FLP's.
Motor was slightly skipping & shaking right after FLPs were installed & got worse as time when on. SES light was flashing off & on before I thought about checking wires(got about 6000 miles on them, but very bad gas mileage) No wire was touching header.
When I looked at the engine at night there was fire(some was ever 5" long) looked like a telsa coil almost.
MDS 8.8s:
Installed them about 1000 miles ago, but motor still shakes more than it should.
So I checked the wires at night and thats were I was at today. The plugs looked like there were glowing.
AC plats(part# 41-943)
10 miles & 10 min. on plugs & they look like they are glowing.
I don't think I got 2 bad sets of wire & 2 bad sets of plugs. What else could cause this? Thanks Alan

More info on this.
Tayor & NGKs had dielectric grease but I didn't use it on the MDS and ACs. On the ones I see jumping and that are easy to get to I will put some dielectric grease on them tomorrow and it that works I will do all of them. The boots are pushed on very tight and they clicked also. Alan

i really didn't read every thing you wrote, but do you think you did clamp the fuel filter on right, cause that would cause the the bad gas milage and the wires you installed could of cause a spark, but then again that might of blown up your car
The 'glowing plug' is normal. I get it on my car, and changed spark plugs to try and solve it, but it remained. I then climbed underneath my buddies '97 SS, and he has the same thing going on. A little research, and I found the following explination:
I too am running the Taylors, and had spark jumping out of the wire. I wrapped every wire in conduit and no more spark jumping
Good luck,
Thomas.

The blue around the plugs is called "Coronal Discharge" and it is normal. It is the result of ionization of the air around the plug due to the high voltage present. It is a normal condition. If you get an acutal miss associated with an arc, then you have a problem.

Good luck,
