Cmr0z28 03-11-2004, 12:15 PM I ran the car again last night, all 4 runs were 13.7@100 mph. They all had a 2.0 60'. I have 3.73s, subframe connectors, LCA's, poly torque arm bushing, BFG drag radials at 18psi and a disconnected swaybar, and I can't get the damn 60' below 2.0. I burned them until the RPM's dropped and the wouldn't spin anymore...and I tried stalling it up a little on some runs, but no difference.
Black_Z28 03-11-2004, 12:40 PM Do you have an auto or a manual. I assume auto since you're stalling??
CamaroGuy22 03-11-2004, 12:44 PM I would atleast think you could get some 1.9's or better out of that setup. Lets here what the LT1 gurus have to say.
This may have been a better topic for the Drag Racing Forum.
Cmr0z28 03-11-2004, 04:08 PM It's an automatic.
blkchevyz 03-11-2004, 04:43 PM is it spining or bogging?
i would try adding a little more air to the tires, mine hooked best at around 22 or so... but i have a 6 speed.
dont stall it up, just punch it.
Stephen 87 IROC 03-11-2004, 09:31 PM How old are the tires?
S.J.S. 03-12-2004, 12:59 AM SLICKS!!
GhostZ 03-12-2004, 05:25 AM You can't ask for 1.8's if you're still using street tires. 2.0 isn't all that bad on normal street rubber.
Get some DR's or Street's and then give it a go.

I do belive he is using Drag Radials .

Cmr0z28 03-12-2004, 01:31 PM Yes I'm using BFG drag radials and they're fairly new.....I have a total of 7 runs on them, 5 had burnouts.
QCKZ28 03-22-2004, 10:17 PM with your mods and the stock stall a 2.0 is about the best you can do.
a 2800 stall et streets would be my advice :)
CamaroGuy22 03-23-2004, 11:30 AM I dont know about a 2.0 being the best you can do. I know some people with gears and drag radials/street tires getting a 1.9 on a well prepped track. But he is right about the stall, get one and your short times will drop considerably
MustangEater82 03-23-2004, 11:53 AM You cna do better I have seen stock trannied stock converter, auto cars get 1.9s on kuhmo 712s...
Hell I cut a 2.1 with an stock suspension, open diff, and original Eagle GA tires with 37k on them.
you shoudl be able to get a 1.9 at least
slomarao 03-23-2004, 01:47 PM Do you have a line lock? that would help getting your tires sticker. You will be able to do a little better with your mods. A 2800-3200 stall would really help your situation. Plently of people of gone real fast of bfg drag radials. Your tires are not your problem. Play around with the pressure on the street and find what works best there. 18 psi may be too much, or too little. Try going back to the track with a stall, it would be great with the 3.73's
"White Knight" 03-23-2004, 07:57 PM Yea i have run 1.9?? something with bald street tires with no suspension mods(mods in sig)......but then again 2.73's don't need to much traction.......perfect set-up for limited traction issues, plus you get good fuel economy.
"White Knight" 03-23-2004, 08:00 PM That 60' ^ was got by easing into the trottle. You can't just romp on it if you have traction problems, and with the 3.73's i think you have a little traction prob. Try to go 3/4 throttle then when she just gets moving slam her down.:D
