My post count is frozen

I read the sticky about the post pruning but that does not seem to be the case with me. It's not that I lost a number I used to have but rather my current post count hasn't increased in months.

I have been at 471 forever it seems. Not that I am a post whore but I wanted to hit 500, 1000, ect at some point and time. I just checked and every post I have is 471. I'd just like to get it unfrozen so it actually counts up like it's supposed to.

Funny how my cars odometer can't get this problem. That I wouldn't mind ;)

I just did a search for my username and every post I made (even my very first one) says 471 :confused:

Posts in non-resource forums such as the Lounge and Suggestion Box do not count toward your post count.

1). I did read both stickys and my interpretation of the one was that it refers to people who had large post counts that suddenly got dropped. Like the guy who had 2000 and then saw he was at 50 all of a sudden. That was not the case here so I did not figure that the sticky thread was gonna apply to my problem.

2). I do most of my posting here in LS1 tech and Drivetrain sections. I was well aware that the lounge and kill sections were not going to add to my post count (didn't know this fell forum section fell into that catagory but now I do).

However, I made several posts today in the LS1 tech section and everyone (in different threads even) said I was 471. I did a search on my username and saw that every single post I have (most of which are from ls1tech section) says 471.

If you don't want to help me that's fine but I did read the stickys first. I just didn't see how they applied to my post count being forever stuck on 471. Heck for all I know my true count could be 300. I'm not even sure if 471 was ever accurate. But I do know it's not going up no matter what section I post in.

Your post count is not stuck, you just need to post in a Tech section. Post counts can't be frozen, even if I wanted to do it manually it couldn't be done.

Your post count is kept in a central database and is updated in ALL your posts. Even if you went back to look at your very first post you made, it's still gonna tell you what your CURRENT post count is.

That explains it. I didn't realise the post count gets updated to all posts throughout the database like that.
