drag tire?'s

I was just wanting to know what would be the best size of tire for a weekend track go'r. I don't go to the track much but when I do I get no traction. I have a set of 15x8 and 15x7 rallys. I saw a pair of tires on ebay that were 30x10.5. would these be to big for a lightly mod car(sig)? If So what would all of you guys suggest.

If this is for the car in your "signature", you don't want/need 30" slicks.... Look at a set of 26x10.5-15 or 26x11.5-15 ET Streets.

A 30" tire will make your 3.73's feel like about a 3.19 compared to running with stock diameter tires. You need a 4.56 gear just to stay even. Also need a canopener and a cutting torch to fit 30" tires on a 4th Gen. 26" ET Streets or QTP's will be fine.

Also, if you have 15" wheels for your Z, there are a lot of choices for drag radials and other DOT race tires. BFG has several choices in a 15" DR as does Hoosier and M/T.
