Hello,
I was wondering if there is anyone out there that would be able to give me some help. I have a 1999 Z28 and am having some cat problems. My passenger side cat has busted some how on the inside and is making a very loud rattling noise at certain rpm's. My problem is that I am trying to get around this as cheap as possible. I was wondering if there is any difference between a california smog certified cat and a non certified one. Also does anyone have any idea where to get a replacement cat for a good price. I have only had the camaro for a short period of time and I am not real familiar with it yet. I have found them as low as $60 but I can't find any that are CA smop ceritfied. Is this a known common problem. I was also wondering if there is any option code listing to tell whether it was a california car or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the car does not have any serious mods that may have caused the problem and it has less than 80k miles, then, the emmissions warranty should cover you. As in free replacement.

It's has an slp lid, headers, reprogrammed ecu. Supposed to have a ls6 intake, but I really can't tell the difference. 3.73 rearend gears. It has 87,000 miles on it.
