Is there a part number stamped anywhere on the pcm? All I found was a barcode lable with an a 16 digit number on the bottom and an 8 digit number on the top which is 1620211 and that number does not exist in a part number search.

MIne has three 8 digit numbers that all start with 162xxxxx and one 16 digit number that starts with 868xxx.. But none of those codes really tell you anything. The pcm I mentioned was a OBD2, my obd1 is in the car so I can't check it.

If you don't know anything about it and your attempting to use it the way it is, don't. It could really run weird and mess things up if its out of a caprice or something. You certainly want to flash it to get it in at least a stock for your car state. I would say if it flashed ok then its worth a try. If it doesn't then maybe its a '93 thats slightly different (is a 93 different?).

So aside from having it flashed there is no way to tell?

Flash means writing to it, so besides reading the pcm, no. It probably is the correct pcm, it just might not have code that works correctly for your car.
