Helmets (besides EBAY)

where can i find a decent up to date Snell rated helmet on the web for under $100

people using helmets that didnt cost more then $100 what are they and what is the rating on them?

Go to your local motorcycle shop. They should have open face Snell rated helmets for roughly $100. You don't need an SA rated racing helmet. An M rated helmet is fine. M2000 is the newest rating at least for a few more years.

didnt know i didnt need an SA rated helmet....thanks for the heads up!
the '2000' rating, how long does that last? i've seen that they are rated in 5 year increments.....are they legal longer then that?

Current minimum required helmet rating is Snell 90. A Snell 2000 should be good for at least another 10 years. The Snell 2005 ratings should be hitting the market late next year.

Thats where I got mine, got a basic black open faced helmet with the Snell and M2000 ratings brand new for $89. It's passed even at some tough tracks, like Maple Grove Raceway which is pretty anal about such things :)
