95_LT1_6SPD 03-05-2004, 09:44 PM I picked up my wheels this afternoon. I bought them off corvetteforum.com from a guy about 20 mins away. They are 335/35/17 in the rear and 275/40/17 up front. Well i have read alot about putting 315's on the back, and decided id give 335's a try. I did some searching and there are only a few threads about it so i figured i would post about my experience.
Before i say anything, i will say that i know the tire choice is limited with 335's and they are more expensive. But i dont mind. When i first tried to fit them on, they were catching on the bump stop. So after i took a file to it for a few minutes, they went on pretty easily. I spun them around a few times and noticed they were slightly rubbing on the inner fender. A 5lb sledge took care of that tho :D
They were not very hard to install, and a few minutes pounding the inner fender and a few minutes trimming the bump stop was all it took. I managed to get a couple of pics of it, but its raining out and its 20 to 10. If tomorrow is a bit nicer i will get some pictures of it from the back and how it lines up with the fender and such.
To anyone thinking about doing this, i would reccomend it, as long as you dont mind paying a bit more for the tires.
Oh yeah, im going to have my fender lips rolled also.

Cant wait for that pic. they turn out great with wide tires.
AW/whiteZ-28 03-05-2004, 10:47 PM When you say you spun the wheel around to check I'm assuming that was in the air? If so how was the clearance when on the ground?
95_LT1_6SPD 03-05-2004, 11:52 PM yeah it was in the air. I will be dropping it down tomorrow afternoon. I didnt have to beat much to get them in. So i can clearance alot more. I will let you all know tomorrow evening.
Pandamonkey 03-06-2004, 01:47 AM It's difficult to tell from the pics that they are 335's........
We'll all be waiting for a rear shot of your car with them on there........:)

the tires will do fine in the snow to take pics ;)
30thANNIVZ-28 03-09-2004, 06:41 PM 335s are cool and all but you are going to run into 2 problems.
1) Your tire is not plus sized correctly so your speedometer will be off.
2) Still not plus sized right so your gearing will also be off.
Neither will be dramatic but if you're anal like me that might bother you.

Ummm, what are you smoking. Doesn't matter if it is 315 or 335 or 395, nothing will change. UNless you are talking about going from 16" to 17".

if the overall hieght of the tire is greater will anything be off.
with a sidewall of 117mm he has 7 mm more sidewall. So he will be 14mm taller then stock. so YES his speedo and gear ratio will off.

jesus I just wanna see the damn pics already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
JTS95TA 03-10-2004, 10:02 PM Rag,
car looks good but I dont like the offset you got. Looks the same as the 17x11 Zr1 wheel with the incorrect 36mm offset. Sticks out way to far. I think the best looking in my opinion is the 17x11 315-35-17 with 50mm offset fits the wheel and tire pretty much flush with fender about hlf inch inside.
Go here for pics of my Z28 with the 17x11 50mm offset and nitto 315-35-17
