Lid/ idle problemT.V. 03-05-2004, 08:59 AM Last night I installed an SLP lid and a smooth bellows, I made sure everything was tight and leak free. When I started the car up it ran real rough and would not idle for about 5 minutes. After that it began to run better, today it seems to be idling and running just fine. The computer may have been re-calibrating to the increase of air flow. I have heard that it will run rough. However, when I install my K&N FIPK the engine ran fine when I started it up. SSmokin 01 03-05-2004, 03:15 PM Whenever you disconnect the battery for any length of time it resets the pcm. It then has to go through an idle re-learn procedure when you first start it up. It will sound like it's going to stall but don't give it any gas or it will take longer for it to re-learn . After 30 secs to a minute it should smooth out. It may also run a little rough at the next few stoplights/signs during the first ride but will eventually go away. I learned about this when I first changed my lid. The same for my buddy. He changed the lid and I got the 911 phone call because he thought he broke his car. T.V. 03-05-2004, 03:38 PM Exactly what happened, thanks again for all the comments!
