I've seriously done some thinking and am truly interested in going the LT-Turbo route. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site to research first about making TUrbo Kits for our cars.?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site to research first about making TUrbo Kits for our cars.? OldSStroker 03-03-2004, 06:59 PM Google.com is your friend. Try searching for this: LT1 kit "turbo" I got over 4000 hits. First one looks promising! kmook 03-03-2004, 08:21 PM Not sure why this forum was picked over the Forced Induction forum. Transfering- EDS Z28 03-03-2004, 08:58 PM Proturbo is in the process of developing a nice kit for us LT1 guys. The question is how long do we have to wait. They won't say yet, maybe this summer? Chrisbequick 03-03-2004, 10:02 PM PTK's kit has been out for quite a while. I'm using their headers on my turbo build. -Chris Heatmaker 03-03-2004, 11:31 PM I'm looking for a setup that overall will have 600RW HP. This is my Goal. But on a FI Setup it's all in the block. So how would one go about building a bomb proof block? 97WS6SCharged 03-03-2004, 11:33 PM So how would one go about building a bomb proof block? By spending wads of cash. :D JZ 97 SS 1500 03-03-2004, 11:41 PM PTK's kits is already out and is very nice. Kit will easily make 600rwhp with a T76. Jose Heatmaker 03-03-2004, 11:46 PM I know this will be a long and interesting project...but when done I think it will be worth it. I really want to as much of the kit as I can myself. Piping and everything else is nothing... only issues are finding a good set of TUrbo manifolds...and figuring out how to set the block up. EDS Z28 03-04-2004, 10:23 AM Originally posted by GhostZ Are you talking about these folks? http://66.70.20.245/store/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=3 If so, those kits have been out since last year. Yes, that's the kit I was referring to. I was told that they are in the process of making some changes to that kit. I am going to wait for the more updated version of it. :p JZ 97 SS 1500 03-04-2004, 11:59 AM The kits have pretty much been updated. The only thing they may change is the access to the first bolt on the driver side header, and its no big deal. PM me if you need any info on the PTK kits. Jose Chrisbequick 03-04-2004, 03:33 PM Originally posted by Heatmaker But on a FI Setup it's all in the block. That's not true. The block is fine for 600 horsepower. You just need a forged rotating assembly. -Chris mongse_1 03-05-2004, 12:10 PM I wouldn't be concerned with the block until the 800hp range. Slugs, rods and crank...that's another story. :D Heatmaker 03-05-2004, 03:07 PM I was talkign about the Internals...not the block itself. JZ 97 SS 1500 03-05-2004, 03:12 PM An eagle rotating assmembly with some JE slugs will easily handle the output your wanting. And it will be relatively cheap. Jose 97WS6SCharged 03-05-2004, 09:35 PM Relatively cheap... Mine was still 1600 with all the upgrades. If my car hadn't blown a head gasket last Saturday night, the pistons would be on their way to Swain to be coated. :) JZ 97 SS 1500 03-05-2004, 09:58 PM Well, you could have spent 1600 on just a crank...hehe Jose 97WS6SCharged 03-05-2004, 10:52 PM As if Ma and Pa aren't ticked at me for spending $1600 on a rotating assembly. I don't want to think what would have happenned if I had brought home a $1600 dollar crank. 600 rwhp or round about there will be sufficient for my goals, plus I'm planning to buy a kit car in the not too distant future. :) | ||
