For anyone in need of replacing an outdated harness, Simpson is offering $25-50 off their normal prices, with "trade-in" of the 3 SFI date tags and the main brand logo tag from any brand harness.

So if you manage to find 3 outdated belts all with the same date code you can use them as a trade in. Now just how many people are going to have 3 sets of belts all with the same date??

Might want to take a closer look at your harness.... A single SFI-rated harness has 3 SFI date tags on it... on on the harness straps, one on the seatbelt straps and one on the crotch strap. That's the tags they want..... 3 tags from one harness.

I guess its better than nothing, but it sure feels a lot like buying $200 books for class and then selling (more like giving) them back to the bookstore for 30 bucks .

I can't find it on their website, but the newest Summit catalog has a deal on RCI's Platnium Series Harnesses. It's $139.99 for the 5 point cam lock harness, and RCI will recertify them once for free. Basically you get 4 year belts. It's in the front of the catalog with the special deals.

Just make sure you can live with the "overdone" appearance of the RCI Platinum belt.... I jumped on it when I saw the price and the free re-cert, but after seeing the harness, there was no way I wanted it in my car......

I have also looked at the Impact Racing (Bill Simpson's new company) camlock harness for $119, with trade-in of an old harness. That too looks gaudy, and that was confirmed by Brady after his dealer got him one. He returned it.

After screwing around for months, I decided on the Simpson Platinum Camlock.... $170 with the trade-in of three SFI labels off your expired harness.
