CamaroGuy22 02-29-2004, 11:39 PM Here were my timeslips, tell me what you think...i was running Eagle F1 GS - D3's at 30 psi, and had a really hard time hooking.

1/4 - 14.041
MPH - 100.66
Disect the numbers guys.
Daryn95Z 03-01-2004, 12:19 AM Nice numbers for just intake and exhaust in a vert.
Daryn95Z 03-01-2004, 12:22 AM Also try playing around with your tire pressure to see what works best with those tires.
The best 60 with street tires i've pulled was a 2.1 with around 20 psi.
MauriSSio 03-01-2004, 02:08 AM your MPH must have been misread on your third run on your 1/8th mi since it is WAY higher than all your other 1/8 mi but your time still falls in line.
CamaroGuy22 03-01-2004, 08:35 AM Daryn95Z - Thank you, its just discouraging to see times of people with stock LT1's getting 13.5-14.0's. Hopefully next time i will have some drag radials.
MauriSSio - I accidentally read the MPH for the car next to me on that one. I fixed It.
CamaroGuy22 03-01-2004, 08:37 AM I guess the 3.42's didnt help much either with the lack of traction i had.
Steve Y 03-01-2004, 12:58 PM How in the heck were you pulling on C5s from a roll with those track times?
CamaroGuy22 03-01-2004, 06:02 PM I never pulled a C5 from a roll, i am just able to stay exactly equal from 50-110. Track prep was pretty bad yesterday, but i dont know. Any tips, suggestions i should know about, or things that look odd with the timeslips?

That is amazing with 100 mph traps. A C5 should pull you hard from 50 to 110. Are you at high altitude? Was it a really hot humid day at the track?

stock LT1 going 13.5 = NOT gunna happen... a 13.90 car BONE stock is a FAST FAST LT1 car :) 13.9s from a catback CAI and other things is about where u should be, and scince ur a vert i think ur doin real good

I've heard of a bone stock '93 LT1 doing 13.4! Freak car, freak driver, freak conditions though. High 13s is a very good running stock LT1.

It was 65 degrees, like 50 percent humidity, track is 300 ft above sea level. I ran 2 different C5's with the same outcome from the same spot, i had 2.73's then.
93Z286Speed - Thanks for the props, i have seen some guys state how quick there stock ET was, i have seen several auto 3.23 gearend cars that went 13.7, and a few quicker. I guess you are right though...i did good for my first time.

50-110 is the sweet spot for a 2.73 auto car. Still a good C5 driver in the right gear should pull you hard from 50-110. Anybody want to lend me a C5 to race him. :D

I know a C5 should beat me lol, i never said I go around stomping on C5's. I posted out of amazement that i stuck right side by side 2 different C5's from basically the same rolling start. Even if that was my sweet spot before, i know thats an LS1's sweet spot aswell. Less weight...more power...oh well.
I want to race and get beat by my co-workers 01 Cobra w/ bassani X pipe, 2 chamber flows, and CAI....oh yeah he supposedly has a 90mm throttle body too.
Any track tips you guys could lend me?
I did take the all the crap out of the car, and the jack and spare, left all the seats in. Gas tank was at about half. I lowered my rear tire pressure from 35 to 30.
I was thinking about getting some LCA's to improve my 60'. How much would they help.

I know you are not cocky about beating C5s. :) That is definately a fluke, though. Don't expect to beat all stock LS1s.
CamaroGuy22 03-02-2004, 02:02 PM My car is slow lol, if i could get out of the hole better anc ut a 1.9 60' i might be able to see some 13.6's-13.7's.
MauriSSio 03-02-2004, 02:56 PM each tenth in the 60' is usually worth 1.5-2 tenths in the quarter.W/ a 1.9 60' time expect your times to drop substantially.
CamaroGuy22 03-02-2004, 03:06 PM Any suggestions on how to get it to the 1.9 60'. Do you think that goal is realistic with some Nitto Drag radials and maybe some LCA's?
How much would LCA's help? If they dont do nothing then i might as well not spend any money on them. Also some guy was saying about poly transmission mount, and a poly torque arm mount. Is that worth it?
MauriSSio 03-02-2004, 03:11 PM yeah i guess those are worth it AFTER you break the stock ones. I think drag radials and good track prep are whats needed for 1.9's. If the track aint prepped right your gonna have a hard time gettin 1.9's.Dont get discouraged by all these people running around getting1.9' sixties on street tires, those numbers are only acheivable on a well prepped track.
