thats a bunch of crap, did you get a ticket?
i was actually surprised, for the ratio of domestics to ricers there the domestic guys were doing more than their fair share of stupid stuff (not talking about ya'll, just in general)
'94 Bad A Z28 02-29-2004, 11:05 AM That is Adam's car... he got a ticket, but he said it was a non-moving violation so that good.
Sneakin Deacon 02-29-2004, 11:15 AM this wouldnt be BigBird's (bruce) old car would it?
'94 Bad A Z28 02-29-2004, 12:17 PM That's the one.

Sneakin Deacon 03-01-2004, 08:49 PM you've blown the rear, and you've killed the bottom end in just a few months.

whoa buddy........you seem to be mis-informed...allow me to put you in your place.
1. Yes...the rear end was blown soon after my buddy bought the car...McLeod dual friction + 400rwhp = a blown stock 10 bolt
2. He brought the car to me the very second he got it in town...and he was suspecting a loose rocker arm...he was right.
3. We reset all the rockers (correctly) and the problem remained
4. pulled off the intake manifold to find a cracked head, broken valves and collapsed lifters
5. decided to pull the cam...and it looked like someone hit the cam loped with a sledge hammer.
so we swapped motors, put a new cam and different heads on and now it runs fine....so do your research before you start pointing fingers.
Love,
Dad
Sneakin Deacon 03-02-2004, 01:44 PM Dear Dad,
Tightening 3 turns past zero lash is not good. Car lasted a very long time on that 10bolt with no problems.
ps: Mom sends her condolences.
Sincerely,
Sneakin' Deacon
n20ta2 03-02-2004, 04:13 PM It doesnt matter how long the 10 bolt lasted before it went, they are junk and can go on a completly stock vehicle let alone one with mods.I rebuilt mine and it lasted about 10 nitrous launches before it cracked the carier.

the car hasn't been on the road long enough to be put through hell. care to give evidence to back up your baseless claims? you havent' mentioned anything that was his fault yet.

Sneakin Deacon 03-03-2004, 10:46 PM  all i can say is atleast it aint mine :)
Ws6Envy 03-04-2004, 10:53 PM This is Adam the owner of the Trans am............ and hears what really happened, on my way home from Tampa after buying the car a rocker arm came completly off the pushrod, checked the lifters all fine, replaced the pushrods and tighten the rockers 1/2 turn past zero lash, took it out for a test drive, broke the rear end on the way back............ so the car sat for three months and got a brand new torsen rearend for it, drove the next day and a rocker came off again, so I tightened them again the way comp cam explained in detail how to do, I go down the road to put gas in the car, on my way back the car begins to idle terrible, I get home (very upset) and begin to search for the problem to find out two lobes on the cam are completly gone and half the lifters were collasped, so I replaced the cam and lifters as well as new hardened comp cam pushrods and in the process of tryin to break in the cam by letting it idle for 30 minutes the car would not idle right, so suspecting that we made a mistake we back off all the rockers and tried to adjust them again well after we started it it ran for about 30 seconds and clicked and died, wont start, we try to manualy turn it over and it was seized up so....................we pulled the motor to find the problem- a cracked head and two smashed valves and #4 piston was broke, the heads were screwed up when I bought the car either bent valves or it was cracked becuase I never got the chance to really get on it, the bottom end is fine you ignorant prick it just needs new heads and a new rotating assembly, well I have other plans for the motor so I put an almost brand new Lt1 in with the same valve train (cam, roller rockers) and plan on putting stage II GTP heads on it after the summer
I was honestly going to let this whole deal with the car go but, you guys had to open your mouth without even knowing what your talking about, Bruce sold me his problem, a screwed up car that took months to fix but, its ok because now it runs better than it ever did before becuase it was put together the right way
the by two GM mechanics of 24 years of experience with GM hotrods, they pointed everything that was done wrong when I bought the car so Sneakin, do me a favor and tell everyone in Badrap what really happened - Adam
P.S. Bigbird is dead this is a completly different (better) car, new name is undecided
