Incredible 396 LT1 shortblock

I am posting this for Brent from Total Engine Airflow in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Includes:

Callis custom-built for this application crank: $1999
Oliver Pro Billet 6" Rods: $1599
Oliver Billet Splayed Main Caps: $ 300
Machine Work: $1800
Block: $150
Canton Race Pan: $300
Any camshaft of your choice: $250
Oil Pump: $100
Custom JE Dished Pistons 11.5 to 1 comp w/54cc heads: $799
Hellfire Rings and Clevite 77 Teflon coated bearings: $350
Head Gaskets: $150
ARP Main Studs and Head Bolts: $300

As you can see, there's $8100 worth of parts right therem not to mention the few other things I'm sure I left out.

This shortblock was assembled by Brian (TEA owner) and Brent in-house at TEA. There are over 58 hours of assembly time alone invested in this motor, just to insure all the specs were correct.

He really needs to unload this fast. Asking price is $6000, but is slightly negotiable. PM me, email me for w/ offers and or to discussion purchase.

I posted it that way b/c that is the way Brent provided the parts list to me. From what I understand its a Callies 396 stroker crank (3.875" stroke). It is a Callie's Dragonslayer I know that.

They come that way from Callies and are mass produced so I dont think it was custom built. I know Brent and he is a good guy but I do believe the price is kinda high when you can get a complete motor for that kind of money.

How is that? For the parts and time he has into this thing its worth it. Especially considering that there are shops out there like MORE Performance who wants right at $6k for their 396 LT1 shortblock, that has parts that are not as quality as the ones in this one. A buddy just paid right under $7K for his 383 from Nutech. It has basically the exact same parts.

Like I said I know Brent and I am not meaning any disrespect to him or his motor but if you search around you can find the exact parts that are in the motor for less money. Didnt mean to offend anyone and I was just trying to state that it would probably sell very quick if the price was a little lower.

I dont see how I am way off. Just scanning prices quickly and yes I am building a new motor at the moment myself so I know some prices and how to look for cheaper prices on high dollar parts.

Rods--1300
Caps--250
Oil Pan---280
Pistons--550
Rings&Bearings-- less and yes for the same parts a friend just went with the same setup in his motor
Head gaskets-- a lot cheaper than 150
Studs---250

Granted this is not a lot less on parts but it is cheaper and I had my block worked completely over at a reputable machine shop and my bill didnt come no where near 1800.00 bucks.

No one is offended. The reason he has so much money into this shortblock is that it was intended to run a full racing or more w/ up to a 400 shot of N20 on top. For what he has in it, I think that $6000k is about right.

He really needs to unload this thing in a hurry though. He would preferrably like to get it out of the shop in the next two weeks.

If any one is interested feel free to email me w/ offers and questions.
