Possibly selling car, how to price it?
I've really been thinkin about gettin rid of the SS. The top ripped a couple weeks ago from the snow and ice sitting on top of it, I'm startin to get a little tired of all the little things. It's almost paid off and I'm tossing around the idea of selling it. Kelly blue book and Edmunds put it at $8500 in good condition with a few visual problems. The car is mechanically sound and the interior is very clean. Anyone know if they are close in their pricing? I realize I might have to knock a little bit off cause of the top being ripped.

The white top on my old 95 TA vert was $1300 to replace, but it was done under warranty in 98. Average wholesale is $8150 with average mileage of 80-90 thousand.
Is it a 30th anniversary by any chance?

It's just a regular 97 SS M6, not an anniversary car. Damn, who did that top? I paid $580 less than 2 years ago when someone sliced it in my driveway. The place did an awesome job for that cheap price too! Probably helps that I know the owner.
I'd wait until the nice weather hits. Your not going to sell it to anyone right now. Not saying it's not gonna happen but it's unlikely. Just do your best to clean it up and advertise anywhere you can with some good quality pic's and details. Drive around with the top down on nice days with the FS sign on it. Someone will pick it up. Also if possible find a place and a price to get the top fixed. That way a potential buyer knows exactly how much it would cost to fix and where they can go to get it done. Just state you don't have time for it anymore or something. Internet, auto trader, newspaper, front yard, word of mouth, etc. are all great places to have it FS. I usually do a complete KBB price sheet up with all the options the car has, condition, price they say it's worth, etc. Then I print it off and put it on the window with my (usually lower) price. Do all the research work for the potential buyer and they are more likely to react when interested. Good Luck, do you have something else in mind after the sale?
Damn, I'm like the wind on keeping or selling this car. I just ordered Jet-Hots for it.....looks like I'm keepin it. LOL
I might as well keep it, it's 95% paid for! Thanks for the advice though guys.
