95 Convertible Z28 rolling chassis

Just wanting to test the waters and see if anyone would be interested in a 1995 Z28 convertible rolling chassis. This is a friend of mine and he is doing an automatic to 6spd tranny swap with this car and after that he is wanting to just sell the car without the motor or tranny. The car is red but in need of a paint job and has tan interior which could use a recover on the drivers seat. The top is in need of repair or replacing also and it is a tan top as well. This car will have automatic pedals installed and will include the automatic shifter as well.

He is looking to get 1000.00 for the car with the automatic pedals and shifter. If you are wanting the automatic engine wiring harness and computer he will let it go for 1200.00. If anyone is interested we can get some pics of the car.

Thanks

Thanks Glenn,

Ok its my car, and here's the deal. I bought a 94z28 late last year off a guy on this board. It is a convetible as well. Body is in better shape and has the black top and grey interior. I want the six speed in this car is the reason for the swap. I also have in the 95 a rod knocking. So we pulled it to replace it with the 94. Thats where we are now. We are tired, and have alot of projects going. This is why its being offered like this if no interest it will be put back together and sold as a complete car.

The car is like mentioned a 95, It does have a rebuilt title. Purchased it that way 2 years ago. It was a theft recovery which was slid into a curb and had the whole rear end replaced. Front end has been painted as well, all this was done before I bought the car. I have had the front end aligned since to assure everything was up and up. Everything is in perfect order. If interested we can put the car up on stands for you to see everything looks like it should. Car was driven for 2 years daily and had no problems went to the track in it numerous occasions. And is the car with the times in the sig. If it wasnt right believe me I wouldnt have raced it. I am a husband with 3 children that I care more about than racing.

Anyways Glenn has been helping me with the swap. If we can get the money we want from parting it out then its gone. If not it will be sold complete. Like mentioned to many projects. We have his car with motor out and being worked on. this 94 that the 383 im building is going into, the 95 that is possibly being sold, and 86 GN, and a 98 z28. As you can see we are loaded down. All cars mentioned here have motors pulled and are being assembled as we speak.

SOOooooooo, Gauging interest as post states. Gonna maybe try ebay as well. Motor and tranny will let go also. Tranny is a 4l60e that came in the car. If you do a search on my user name you will see that when I bought the 94z it had a slipping tranny. I had it rebuilt and has never been installed. Keep that in mind if looking for a tranny. Cars paint is faded. Body is in descent condition. Left side rocker panel has a small dent where it was slid into the curb and must have grazed the curb or something. Not sure wasnt my car at that time.Top need a passenger side lift to make it work properly.

Anyways sorry for the long post. Wanted everyone to know why this was being listed and give a little more explanation into whats going on.

Thanks,
Mike

Also taking interest in the motor and tranny. Make some offers. Motor has 107,000 miles ran real well when pulled. Put all new gasket throughout motor and like mentioned tranny has fresh rebuild never installed. Doesnt have to be sold as a roller if i can get what i want for it parted out then its parted. Make offer on motor and tranny.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks chesee48,

Yea that is defiantely something that hinders im sure. I know it hurts re sell. But if someone wants to keep this car and isnt worried about it. feel free to come check it out. It has been to an alignment shop and aligns perfectly. I have told all I know about the car. I have been driving it till up to 2 weeks ago when the swap comenced. I would actually hold onto it. But wife is the one who makes "the final answer" on that. She says no need for 2 convertibles. I even tried the my oldest daughter is 12 and she will need a car soon. (didnt fly) Ohhh well. Thanks for the reply.
