crime rate skyrocketing around UCF

last night some ricer got broken into within throwing distance of where i park my car. this is either the 4th or 5th car broken into within the last two weeks within 50 yards of where i park my car.

its starting to get out of control. last night when i walked up to my apartment at about 11pm there was a cop circling in the parking lot on patrol, even checked my car to make sure i didn't break into it, and they STILL broke into this ricer's car. i've been taking all of my stuff that holds any value up to my apartment every night for the last two weeks but i'm still afraid they might smash the windows just to see what they can find hidden.

the only thing that the apartment complex has done is put out flyers that basically say lock your doors. i know this is good information because i do know they go around trying to find unlocked cars as i hear them setting off car alarms sometimes in the middle of the night, but obviously if they see something or think they see something they'll smash your windows regardless.

is there anything that can be done to get the apartment complex or the seminole county sherrif's office to do something more about this? what they are doing right now is clearly not good enough.

Apartment complex ain't responsible for crap.

If you had a gate and the gate was non-functional maybe.

but oddly enough Northgate does not have a gate :)

My girlfriends old place, a good 10 car got busted into and her roomate's car got vandalized. Police reports everything...

many complaints and reports to the front office. About 2 weeks later someone steals my g/f's roomates car.

What coudl be done nothign she was looking into trying to sue or something.

hehe once, I walked out to my car, and the car between my car and my girls car, was sitting on cynder blocks.

they took his
wheels
tailights(altezzas)
wing
disc changer
subs
amps
headunit
CDs
radar detector

Jsut assume your car is never too safe...

I think that maybe cuz I live in the ghetto, I am ok since they don't steal from their own neighborhood :)

I really hope my g/f's dad goes through with buying us a townhouse with 2 car garage :)

All the posting about this helped convince my parents into getting me a house out by UCF, as I will be going there next year. It actually won't cost that much because I will be renting out two of the rooms (3bedroom).
One room is already taken, but there is one room still for rent. It will be available in the late summer to early fall (whenever I move out there). If anyone's interested, email me at redcamaroz28@earthlink.net.

Hook a battery and a huge accumulator to your door handle... see them try to open your doors w/ that one! Then again, when you forget that you hooked it up and touch it... eech...

I know when I lived in Orlando last year that I had my books stolen 4 times and my ps2 stolen from my apartment. But then again I did live in U-Club.

Im going to move back at the end of the summer. Couple of my boys live there now and we are getting a house.
