BradZ28 02-17-2004, 08:39 PM I just moved here from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and am loving it! I'm going to pick up my Z and drive it down here in the next few weeks. Are there any events, local hang outs or cruising spots in this area? I see alot of rice around so it would be cool to know where our fellow F-Body people hang out. Being able to drive year round is going to be awesome!!
Brad
LethalTA 02-17-2004, 09:35 PM www.badrap.net bunch of good people, and fast cars.
Jaegermeister2k 02-17-2004, 10:05 PM When we go to gandy on saturday night, there's dozens of f bodys around there. We usually meet at the sonics there.People go other days too,but we usually go on saturday nighs.Great place to find installers and tuners and just people to talk to about anything.
ZDriver96 02-19-2004, 04:31 PM I use to live in Mukwonago for my senior highschool year... way to much snow, way to cold.. All i did up there was drive my moms z28 all the time, and go up to Highway 100/ layton ave and race. That was about the only thing keeping me sane.
Badrap.net and tamparacing.com are some local boards with quick cars on them.
Gandy is fun but cops always running people out.
Clearwater, cops get commission on everyone they ticket... portion of that money goes to there retirement fund so watch your driving there.
There are some seriously sick cars down here... And quite a few quick/fast imports too.
8BaLL 02-28-2004, 09:05 PM Nice to see another Fbody in the area.. Im in Palm Harbor, which is just north of Clearwater.. If you plan on going to gandy, dont do anything stupid,to many cops and they have really cracked down on stuff around there.. Clearwater beach is sometimes good to hang out on Friday/Saturday nights.. Mostly ricers though :blah:
Enjoy your new home

Hey i was wondering. We were gonna go to bradenton yesterday, but had to turn back after a friends civic hachback broke down.He swapped an integra engine in it.Pretty quick too.He drove it at over 5000 rpm at over 100mph constantly on i-75.Go figure.Anyway.He said they took the regular light off and put normal traffic light on the track.Do they do that often? And do you still get a timeslip?

n20ta2 03-20-2004, 11:52 PM last night was club 1320 street race night, what they do is instead of using a countdown light they stage at red and when the 2 cars are ready it turns green. Its just like street racing at a traffic light, they also dim all the lights. They will give you a slip if you ask for it before the run they wont record it if you dont ask in advance, they also treat the track with vht its good traction.

Sounds like a hell of a time. This was at the Bradenton Motorsports Park (or whatever it's called now) correct?
Street-type racing on a safe and legal track :metal::bow::thumb:
