I have researched for two nights straight now, and I have not found one single negative comment about an optima battery. I am thinking of going with the red top. I have a small amp to push a small sub, but it is nothing that big, and I don't listen to it very often, if at all, when the car isn't on.
Is the optima the best battery for my SS??
TIA.

Are you looking for lightweight or power output.

I'm not concerned about weight savings. I want a very reliable battery.

Then yeah I'd say go for the optima.

I've never heard a single complaint on those batteries.
Personally, I always go with the AutoZone Gold battery and have never had problems.

optima all the way...
check Advanced Auto parts if you have them (or maybe other places too) cause i got mine a couple weeks ago on sale...total was $119 after tax....
seems like summit sells em for close to $130 before shipping.

When I bought my car it came with a red top optima and it has been the best battery I have ever had. It has been abused and drained several times when I listen to my stereo while my car has been turned off, and it is still strong and very reliable. I also recommend Optima batteries, and also Orbital batteries are the same Optima batteries under a different name, which are a little bit less expensive.
