Quarter Mile Performance sells the lid alone for $75. That's the cheapest I've found that's new and not a factory blemish.

As for the bellows....I have no info on that subject.

While I do agree that a lid is a lid is a lid you also have to consider fitment. A poor fit can possibly rob you a few horses not to mention look bad. Plus some people use the lid as a "show piece" and get the clear or smoked carbon fibre. It might be worth the extra 20 bucks to get a tsp lid. They pre fit each lid prior to shipping it to guarantee quality. Plus the carbon fiber ones look way cool.

I just got the $99 black lid and it fit like a glove and hasn't cracked. They seem to be popular and the customer service over there is top notch. But if cost is a big factor I've heard SLP sells blemished lids for about $75 as well.

Good Luck

Just like Camaro_Guru16NY said Gm High-Tech Magazine did a test with several lids. I have fully read the article yet but TSP lid was some where in the middle.

When I bought my WS6 it already had a lid installed, a carbin fiber one. Not sure of the make, but I what a clear lid so I opted for the TSP lid. It looks great and the fitment is good, a little tight, but that's better than loose.

But like a lot of people suggested a Lid is a lid. They'll all be an improvement over stock; it all comes down to how much you want to spend and the look your looking for.

Hope this helps.

As I understand it, MTI had the original LS1 airlid. That's what I'm running on my car with no complaints.

2001 WS6 laid down 317 RWHP on Hypertech's DynoJet, with just the MTI lid. (330 after I opened the cutout)

GMHTP did a review and they all flowed about the same. SLP seemed to have the best fit and I think they had the highest numbers (we're talking +/- 2 HP here), but I just don't like the air hose coming out of the SLP lid. I think it goofs up the lines of the engine bay.

I cut my AIR pump hose about an inch from the pump and put the breather filter down there. No extra hoses secured by a ty-wrap, or flopping around, or snaked up to a lid. It's nice and clean.

I met a guy at a car show who recently wrecked his '02 SS and he sold me his TSP Clear Lid for 40 bucks. I like it a lot, it gets a lot of compliments at the car shows.

Pics are in the sig

I replaced the SLP Performance sticker with a really nice Firehawk decal from Brent Franker but I haven't got the pics up yet.

Everybody has been talking about it so here is the info from GMHTP(there is also a cool article on the new 02 ZL1.

Stock airbox 321.3hp 13.12@108.76
LG motorsports 325.4hp 13.00@109.9 $89
MTI 326.2hp 12.92@110.24 $99
Quarter Mile performance 330.2hp 12.96@109.73 $75
SLP 331.1hp 12.94@110.04 $99
Texas Speed&Performance 331.5hp 13.07@110 $95
Whisper Motorsports 330.7hp 13.02@109.44 $139

Its a pretty cool article. Definately check it out if you are looking for an air lid.

I have an SLP lid and the "smooth bellow" I couldn't tell you if it made a difference I'm sure it didn't hurt.
