94 Z28 vs. 04 RX-8

I had a little fun tonight. On my way out for some pizza I ran across an RX-8. I'm not an import guy, but man, they're pretty. Well, he's been driving pretty hard and we jump a few times before we get a light (I go outta my way, screw the pizza for now). We both watch the turn arrow changing and I can hear him getting ready to launch it. Out of the hole I break traction just barely through the intersection/ he does about the same. I jump out about 1/2 car length or more. By the time I hit 2nd he's about 1-2 car lengths back, and by 70 its like 2 1/2 - 3 behind. It was a pretty picture to see that new 30K rearview shot.

Yea what kinda mods do you have, theres a kid i go to school with who just bought one, ALWAYS is talking about how fast it is but i thought they was slower then a stock LT1 ...

those cars are cursed w/ no torque...good hp numbers though...no competition for a LT1/LS1

good kill... those cars all had a recall on them for--- overstated hp figures---... they are kind of turds... this the 2nd time mazda has had the "recall" for this problem on a car...

i was looking at them the other day on the net and i think they only run like high 14. they have no chance against an f body. personally i would rathe rhave the mazda 6 then the sporty rx8 they are about the same quickness.
