Results of 1993 Camaro; finally!
Results of 1993 Camaro; finally!
It has been over a year since I started on this 1993 Z28 Camaro Race car and I have finally gotten a decent run at Speedworld.
12.35 at 110 mph, with a 1.7 sixty foot (maybe the slick will help).
Some of you guys have purchased parts off this car and I appreciate it. The budget was very tight and the car sat for months until the funds grew to make the next mod.
I am going to weigh the car soon and will post the results.
The car is lightened, has a comp cam extream .230 x .236 and Jethot LT headers, Kenny Wells tubo 400 with transbrake, JW 4500 converter, stock rear 3:23-1, Advanced Drive Line 1000 HP ds (for future mods) and that is about it.
Funny thing is it took a lot more money to get my 1999 Z28 convertable running this fast!!!
I have a 8 to 10 point roll cage conversion coming from JEGS, $115 with shipping.
Stay tuned for more mods....
I just posted I am looking for a LT1 Bare block.

The tires are MT ET Streets; 26" x 11.5" and hook ok at 3000 rpms but anything over that breaks the tires loose.
The Kenny Wells tranny was $975 with the trans brake. The line pressure was 215 psi and since I drive it on the street to the track they reduced the pressure to 185 to 'save' the tranny. They did this free after they sold me the tranny. Kenny also took the time to discuss what mods I was doing and my future plans. He also ordered my JW stall converter.
Jason: I tried calling you to tell you the results but the phone just kept ringing, no answering machine came on. You need to meet me at the track some night to drive the car; the transbrake is a blast to drive. I also installed a Turbo Action Cheeta shifter with a reverse pattern and it is fool proof to shift.
Next is a MSD 6AL and Two Step box and Delay box. I will be running super pro at the track. If you cannot make it to the strip come by the house and we can take the car out on some back roads.

S. Holley,
I forgot about the converter. I think it was around $475 for a 4500 stall. The Turbo 400 is a full lock up and when you let off the gas the converter does not drag the car/engine down; it "free wheels" so at the end of the quarter mile it is all brake, no down shifting will help. I can stall the converter to 4200 with the transbrake and if I had more hp and torque it would go to 4500 easly. The converters are made in Rockledge Florida.
That is a lot cheeper than my YANK 3500 I purchased years ago.
