My Mcleod clutch stopped disengaging about 2 weeks ago, for the 2nd time in a year and a half. I was in Galveston and had to drive the car to MTI(who did the clutch install) in Houston, which was about 60 miles away. They told me despite having problems twice with a product they sold me. I could either pay again for another or take it up with Mcleod. I didnt have anywhere near the money they were asking so I drove the car back down to Galveston(another 60+ miles). I had to start the car in 3rd and ride the clutch till 30, then when I need to up shift rev it up and slam it into gear. By the time I got down to Galveston it was smoking. I pulled the transmission out and the clutch was missing a spring, which I found a piece of on the rim of the flywheel. The flywheel side of the clutch was missing all surface and was down to the metal, probably from having to drive the car in that condition.
The first time my pressure plate was bad, this time its apparently the spring? What could cause the spring to pop out like that? it happened while I was cruising on the freeway. This clutch is only 9 months old, the other 8 months, do you think I have a case against Mcleod?
