I love SLP's clutch package. It is most definatly not a spec stage 3-5 but for the money it is wonderfull.

Sorry to slam on your tread but what do you guys think about the stage 1 spec clutch? I can get one for under $200?

why go stronger than you need...

what "plans" do you have? 400hp...500hp...600hp??

probably the most common answer to which clutch is gonna be the Mcloed Street twin.

Well my car is a DD and what I have now is longtube headers, CAI and full exhaust. Thats pretty much as performance and working on my suspension right now. So I dont think my car will ever reach 500 HP but maybe around 410. What do you think?

If you'll only ever reach 410hp at the crank, then I'd suggest going with the factory LS6 clutch in a DD. 410rwhp is a different story. You might want to look at an LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel setup. Make sure to update the slave hydraulics as well. Got my LS7/LS2+hydraulics setup for less than $600.

BTW, nice to see someone use the search button. It's rare to see a thread back from 3 years ago. :)

Did you try checking the Drivetrain forum for more suggestions???

Spec is synonymous with "your springs will fall out kid, what r u crazy?

I would go with the LS7 clutch / LS2 flywheel.

Ditto to everything.

Spec sucks. The springs blow up, fall out, clutches wear fast or explode.

LS7/LS2.

Either the Textralia 0z700 or the Exo-Skel.

im running around 380 at the rear wheels, well until my clutch went out the other night when i was racing. i had a ram clutch in it, but after 1 1/2 years its gone. now i think im going to go mcleod, but if not im going stage three. let me just tell you that you might want to go ahead and put the money into a clutch that you might not need now, because if something comes your way, then youll already be set up for it.what ive found out thru my experience is go ahead and get the good ones, just in case.

Thanks guys, I was looking into a ls7 with ls2 flywheel but thats bout $600 and thats above my budget right now. Do you think a Centerforce DF? I've read its a pretty good clutch but is it good for DD?

centerforce sucks and so does the sppec stage 1. if you want a good setup, go wit a Mcleod single disc

Call Jason Cromer or Dal. You can get it for way cheaper than that.
