Springs/Shocks/Strut Brace.....Replace All At One Time?! How much $?

Looking to lower my car. It's a 93 v6 and I think the suspension has never seen a replacement part. That being said, I did a search on here for shocks/struts advice. Most seemed to say that replacing the spring AND the shock at one time is the way to go. My question is, should I also go ahead and get a strut mounting brace thingy that everyone says always needs replacing when this kind of stuff is done? Should I get the mounting bracket parts along with the shocks and springs? What should I look to pay for take off shocks/struts for the front and rear? I have springs lined up, I just need info on shocks/struts and the strut mounting brace especially. Can I get that part off a parts car? What should I look to pay for the mounting piece? Lemme know. Also, what exactly does the front suspension consist of? If I am not mistaken there is a shock with a spring wrapped around it along with a strut that sits almost horizontal as well, right?
